Bashing is a form of flattery, fanboys are jealous and feel threatened by the PS3, that is why they feel they must bash it.
Then the Wii must be really scary.

Yup. I'll be the first to admit Cows see the threat Wii presents because we know what problems can arise if suh weak hardware becomes the accpeted norm. It could throw console gaming back an entire generation in graphics expectations. All the casual gamers would start outnumbering more dedicated tech savy gamers and companies please the masses first and foremost because it's they meal ticket. So in that sense yes...we are very threatened by it. It the reason I'll never buy a Wii. IMO Gamecube was a better console....at least Ninty was true to their colors back then...now they are trying to push motion sensing on the masses...
1-Casuals have always outnumbered the hardcore gamers. You think 100 million PS2 owners were hardcore gamers. Please probably 70% of them were casuals.
2- Wii's library of casual games such as wii sports, wii play, all that other minigame stuff is only popular in Japan. Look at US charts its not popular at all. Zelda, Papermario, Gears, etc games like that sell.
3- Since the US is the biggest market, and US gamers prefer the hardcore games the hardcore games still have a huge market and will continue to get games.
4- Wii has lots of games that are meant for hardcore gamers and arent even intended for casuals. Zelda, Papermario, Mario galaxy, Fire Emblem, Battallion Wars 2, Smash Bros., Metroid Prime, Disaster, Project Hammer, No More Heroes, Manhunt 2(especially this sick game), Dragon Quest Swords, etc. This armageddon of videogame resulting from Wii's success is an ignorant fanboy claim
5- The wii is graphically superior to the gamecube and xbox, so it is a step forward from the previous gen. IS it a step like PS3 and 360 no. But it is a step forward. Look at the specs.
6- The wii offers something new and different. The potential the system has is really exciting. Personally it makes a great secondarty console.
7- All 3 consoles are worthy of purchase with the right library. The Wii has a very good one coming up, is it the best.no. Is it good, interesting, and has a good amount of fun games. Yes.Here's the thing you fail to see.
Casuals: Gamers who buy a system to play games here and there but not much else...in the consoles lifetime they might own 6 games...most mega hits like Halo and a few others on the fly.
In that respect no....PS2 owners would be the equal of current 360 owners today...in that they had lesser technology but it was still impressive. THe community grew as more and more gamers bought the console. But to say 70 percent of a 130 million console owners were casuals is wrong. In that respect it would be like 130 million Nintendo 84 owners vs PS2, GC, and Xbox owners. With a system that has crappy graphics and motion sensing.
The other thing you fail to see is the fact that I DON'T WANT A MINIGAME ZELDA!!! :x
You can HONESTLY say to yourself you would rather have a last gen quality Zelda over a Zelda that could shame Gears of War in graphics? Or hold its own against the likes of FF XIII in both graphics, physics, particle effects, HD clarity, etc etc? You'd either be A: Lying to yourself or B: a Causal.
