It did in Japan. It gave the Playstation a tough time for over a year. It slowed down around the time about the N64 was about to launch but even then it was still very competitive. It sold more than the N64.

That's why it has a goldmine of good imports.

They both were overpriced at launch, had few good games, both's games were harder to make, and both were very similar looking to their popular predecessor, had better graphics than the competition, almost same controler as they're predecessor, and were both dominated by the competition. Wii is part of the competition whether the sheep or anyone else like it or not. It is an active video game console in the market. Are you seriously trying to tell me the only consoles out there are 360/PS3? I don't care what the sheep say even if they have said that.

You literally cant be serious? If I remember correctly in the UK the N64 had have its price cut from £250 to £99 its first year (I think it was defintely very early on its cycle) becuase it couldnt sell any consoles. Where as the PS3 was priced at £425 and is now at £325 and in North America its gone from $600 to £500 (I think) and yet its still selling reasonably well by continueing to outsell the 360 wordwide. Oh and by the way the PS3 actually got to a million units in the UK quicker than the PS2.

Serioulsy anyone who thinks the PS3 is going anywhere is very mistaken. IMO its amazing it selling as well as it is considering its price and with the acception of MGS4 it hasnt really had any major exclusive franchises come out yet. Heres what i think will happen and you can quote me on this. It will eventually surpass the 360 it will outsell the N64 and i think it will make up a fair bit of ground on the wii ( Althrough it obvioulsy wont surpasse it ) and will end up being by far the best selling 2nd place console by a long way

I can do that to watch... The 360 might be the next dreamcast, both where white, both had a one year headstart on the competition, both where easy to develop for, both where praised due to its online gaming capabilities and both have a great game line up currently and both used the last gen format for the time.. See what I did there, it works both ways buds

The Saturn failed because of the remarkable lack of Sonic. It had Sonic R (good despite it being like thirty minutes long), Sonic Jam (just a compilation of the Genesis greats with some extra content), and the superior verion of Sonic 3D Blast.
