http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/07/21/what-is-sonys-mystery-e3-game/

The BBC is teasing that mystery Sony game yet again. When BBC's Darren Waters first described this mystery game, he noted that "we could be on the brink of a step change in what games consoles are capable of in terms of story-telling and immersion." However, Waters was surprised that they did not show this game. MAG was cool, yes, but it was not the game this BBC writer was teasing. "This was not the game I was referring to ... And so I still can't talk about it. Or even tell you what it's called."

We can confirm that Sony did show a game behind closed doors. Unfortunately, that's about all we know. Its identity will be secret until, at the very least, Leipzig Games Convention, happening next month. We can only expect big things if Waters can't stop talking about this mystery game, and if Sony is enforcing strict confidentiality about the game's details. What do you think it will be?

-------

That picture looks like a kitchen. Actually it looks like the kitchen from Heavy Rain.

I think it is Heavy Rain. Everyone that saw the game at E3 was blown away apparently.

I can't wait for Leipzig!

i think it might be heavy rain. But w.e it is. It is being hyped massively. The graphics better be so good that i ill forgot im playing a game.

And i hope its not too violent either. Violence is ok. But i draw the line when it gets photo realistic. thats just freaky

If it's Heavy Rain I think I'll be a little disappointed. I want it to be something unannounced that no one has heard anything about.

The way people are talking about it, it better be something amazing.

I'm thinking it's the new Team ICO game. From what I've heard, it'll be shown at TGS this year.

Meh. Perhaps this is just a publicity stunt to sell more units. Mystery games always tend to hype people up.

It may very well be although, Team Ico isn't really known for games with strong stories. Both Ico and and SotC were pretty obscure when it came to stories but they were immersive as all hell.

Are you guys this bad at seeing things? It's obviously heavy rain. It's a kitchen. There's cabinets, a clock on the left, and some other things.

bstarter29

That's a bit misleading - it seems to be implying that Sony or the PS3 has something to do with this innovation.

Heavy Rain was originally in development for all consoles.

Publicly means for us ....... they showed it behind closed doors under strict NDAs. What we saw a long time ago was "the casting".

Could it be MGS5??

The last figure looks like a 5, and they said a game with story-telling and immersion and MGS series is one that does both.

As others have said, Heavy Rain has already been revealed quite a while back to the public : this BBC reporter boldly states that the game he speaks of has not gone public yet.

It probably is some new IP no one has ever heard of, or that Team ICO Project the majority of PS3 owners are hyping. Both SotC and ICO were among the best games I have played last generation : they are among the few prime examples of what I would categorize as "epic" and "immersive" during the PS2/Gamecube/XBOX eras.

story telling and immersion will be exactly the type of game heavy rain is ,there the indigo devs or watever the game was called, and that was all about the story, so heavy rain it is, and I dont no why people would be disapointed since we havent seen gameplay yet it could be totally amazing

Also well done to the guy putting the pics togeather that really does look like it

The game has never been shown publically.
We haven't seen any screenshots or videos of the game - the only thing we have seen is a tech demo of the game's emotional engine, which has nothing to do with the game.

I mean, aside from the working title (Heavy Rain: The Origami Killer), and a few snippets of info from interviews, we know nothing about it.

Given what little knowledge we have about the game, if I had to wager a guess, it has to be whatever Team Ico has cooking. Beyond the fact that Ico and SotC had great and extremely emotional stories (though they didn't tell you everything), SotC in particular achieved an epic feeling from a game that I had never experienced before. Really, had you told me when the PS2 launched that I'd see a game like SotC on the PS2, I would've laughed in your face and told you it was impossible.

Please be Sony that makes the game. I have yet to play a crappy Sony made game. ^^ Actually when you think about it, have u ever noticed how no first party games ever suck from either of the 3 main consoles? Why is that?

Its not Heavy Rain, its an unannounced game.

Unnanounced to use doesn't mean unnanounced to some people. I've seen loads of writers of articles for game magazines etc claim something in their magazine or article is new and unnanounced when I've already known about it on the internet for about a month. Look at Nintendo Power "OMGawsh secret game!!!!" Yeah so secret that we already know what it is...

Not saying it's definitely Heavy Rain but it could be.
