When is the last time a console had only one million seller 7 months after launching? Does anyone know, I'm really curious. My guess is the 3DO, or the Atari Jaguar, or something like that.

The blame rests squarely on the games that are out, not the console itself.

False. If the console were cheaper, more people would buy it, creating a greater supply of demand.

No one cares where the blame rests. The fact is, I asked a question and unless you're going to answer it you shouldn't be posting in this thread.

I think that's only because not enough people own a PS3. The PS3 has several games that could sell millions if Sony hadn't alienated the system with the price.

Were million selling games so important in SW before it was one of the few arguments in favour of the Wii?

I'd say the Xbox 360 has at least 10 million-game sellers, mainly due to the systems large install-base and very high attach-rate

It is not the games. there is some good games. Fight Night, Oblivion, Call of Duty and some others. It is just numbers. It is hard to get million sellers when there is only 3 million consoles for PS3 sold. For example with 360 you only need 10% of the people to buy the game to make it a million seller. So it is just more of sold consoles then anything. This reason though will not make developers happy though.

such lack of choice in a console resulting in people who bought it to buy the only game that kinda rocks? No this takes the biscuit.

Sales of GAMES in and of themselves have never been a factor in sw.

Ridiculous. At the end, software sales are all that really matter. They're WAY more important than hardware sales. Software is where companies make profit, not hardware. And for us consumers, software is what we play. Hardware is nothing without software.

A console could have sales of one billion units, but if the software doesn't sell well, it wouldn't mean anything.

Not true. The more accessible a system is to Casuals, the more games will get sold. Casuals tend to by more crappy games without looking a review scores. Commercials and advertising is more affective on their type than people who are into gaming and check out reviews before buying.

Yes, I did "read bold". And I stand by what I said. Even in SW, software sales are far more important than hardware sales. Who cares how well hardware sells if the games for that hardware aren't selling well? Like the PS3, it's attach rate is low. Same with the PSP.

Yes you are. You're asking what consoles had only 1 million seller 7 months or something after launch. You're asking about the consoles and by asking about the consoles you're blaming them for the games that are out and how many games it is selling, which of course really isn't very smart at all.

software sakles have never mattered in sw.

this is a fact. get over it. no matter how valid your point, it is simply irrelevent to the fact that software sales has never mattered in sw.

**** 1000 dollars for a gaming console is the most ridiculous thing ive ever seen and is the sole cause of its low sales. your right though its not the consoles fault, its the ridiculously high price of it.

That $600 pricetag sure isn't helping to push any consoles.

Almost of those games you named were million sellers, or even out, at this time in the 360's life span.
