Price drops help when a popualre system starts loosing people to sell to, if the system has little popularity, it doesn't help very much.
I remember gamecube going through quite a load of price cuts and package deals.

That article is weaksauce. It is written in a vacuum, with very little regard to what MS or Nintendy would do to counter any of the points made.
- Pricedrop. Going from $599 to $499 may seem like a huge price drop, but if $499 is still a lot of money to spend on a console. Plus, if Sony cuts the price of the PS3, you know that MS is going to drop the price of the 360, thus Sony's price drop is negated.
- Free online. IF the PSN is able to deliver everything they promise and IF Home is everything they promise, then you KNOW that MS will alter its price structure for Live. As it stands, Live is superior to PSN, thus they can justify the cost. Once they are equal, so will the prices be (free for each).
- Blu Ray. Great for Sony, but having a Blu-Ray player in the PS3 almost guarantees that the PS3 will ALWAYS cost more than the 360, given the price of the components. Thus, no matter how much Sony cuts the cost of the PS3, MS will always be able to get under that price.
- Games. Its funny how they leave off many of the big-hitters for the 360. Convenient, huh?
And PSPs stupid bundle fiasco.Price drops help when a popualre system starts loosing people to sell to, if the system has little popularity, it doesn't help very much.

I only got as far as Haze will sell systems as San Andreas did.
Is the guy on crack?? San Andreas was the HUGE sequel to GTA 3. How many people, not counting people on these boards have heard of Haze???? Especially during a time frame when everyone will be talking about Halo 3??
Damn.....I wish I had a crystal ball.
I've been studying the sales since the system has been released, and they have actually gotten worse, wii is outselling it 8 to 1 in japan, so I'm sorry, but based on current trends, this gen isn't going to favor sony.
