For all intents and purposes, we are halfway through this gen and up until this point X360 owners have enjoyed better graphics for the most part. The systems are on par now in terms of visual quality output from the games. Even if PS3 games instantly start looking better tomorrow and that doesnt change for the rest of this generation, lemmings enjoyed the best graphics for half the gen and cows enjoyed better graphics for half the gen. We all know that isnt gonna happen overnight so I have to say X360 is gonna win the graphics war this generation

Tell me, what 360 Exclusives that are out now have we seen that look better than anything Ps3 has? We havent, adn Vice Versa.

In November of 2008, 360 owners will have saved anywhere between $100-200 for betting running games, and graphics. Gears 2 will be the caveat of the 360 whilst the PS3 slowly creeps ahead, but not at a wide margin. At any rate, the 360 probably only has a shelflife of 4-5 more years which means the 3rd console installment should be about by 2010-2011.

That is, if this gen is only 5 years long.

That is if MGS4 never comes out.

That is if Uncharted is forgotten.

I didn't make this thead with the assumption that everyone would care. I made this thread for the sake of system wars arguement and backed it up with some fair claims which cows are seemingly ignoring for some reason

Eh, I think it's been determined they are pretty much equal, regardless of who's games look a smidge better.

All I'll say is 1 year after 360 we had Gears, which looked amazing. 1 year after PS3 we had Uncharfted, which also looked awesome a slightly better than gears. They are comparable however.

But I think PS3 will win the graphics war in the end.

Well of course, by that logic, we dont know that the 360 is enjoying better looking games because that is opinion.

Because of course again, whether or not uncharted is the console graphics king is opinion. :wink:

Why do people throw out Uncharted and MGS4 like they couldn't be done on 360? Even at that its two games, how many other games look better on 360 than PS3? Sony fans need to step down from the graphics argument, Uncharted isn't that impressive, MGS4's graphics are really not that great either and both could obviously be done on the 360. They are two consoles that are pretty much even in power due to various stengths and weaknesses inherit in both's hardware keeping either from having a significant advantage. So just drop the argument because this has got to be the most pointless way to say which console is better because you can't prove it with something they're damn near even on. Go back to the games even though cows are going to say Uncharted and MGS4 as proof for everything anyways. Sony had a good run but isn't top dog anymore,. suck it up and deal with it. See how Nintendo fanboys felt for the last decade?

After months of hard work and sleepless nights of research, i came to this detailed and elaborate conclusion which am willing to share with everyone...

PS3 > Xbox360 :)

Seriously am a PS3 fan and unlike haters want others to believe, have enjoyed many games since i got my Ps3 last year... surely the games library is not on par with Xbox360, but thats been fixed since nowadays both have exlusives out and coming up... Multi-plats are of equal quality with minor differences which dont effect the games.. Online will shortly be equal since in-game XMB, throphies , Home will all grace the PS3 during the year!! (finally)

though I know the TC is an Xbox360 fan, i did understand his point that till summer '07 Xbox had the edge on PS3... then multiplats stared being equal, a few great exclusives came out on PS3, and probably by end this year / beginning '09 devs will be more comfortable working on PS3, and with its PSN being on par with Xbox live, then PS3 might get the upper hand in games too... So its a draw, and both cows and lemmings can be happy...

However please remember that :-

Xbox360 - launched Nov 2005

PS3 - launched Nov 2006

If we take the life of a console generation on average as 5/6 years... then we must calculate from the date when both consoles were released...

so Nov 2006 till Nov 2007 goes to Xbox360 (why up till this month because games such as COD4, Assasins Creed showed multiplats started to be equal on both consoles, botth technically & graphically.. Also Uncharted was released late Nov/ early December)

Jan 2008 - ???? to be decided to whom it goes..

So I wouldnt say the first half pf this generation goes to Xbox360, since between Nov 2005 till Nov2006 it competed against the Gamecube and PS2... :) an quite unfairly match...

Lastly, my opinion is that PS3 will get the upper hand later this year... on its second year out in the current generation of consoles..

I was going to respond to you in the other thread, but it got locked. You saying MGS is the most over-hyped series ever, just wow. That title is easily given to Halo. Also, maybe since MGS4 is nearing, more people are getting excited therefore more people are posting. It's just like any other big game coming out. I knew you were wishful of MGS4 getting low scores, rather than skeptical of it being a great game.

Really, that's why XBots are trying to "Dethrone" Uncharted but to no avail? That sure does make a ton of sense(sarcasm). Since the 360 has no game to graphically match Uncharted then it's clearly inferior and it's ignorant to argue otherwise. Also, if PS3 games did start widening the gap even further by continuing to look more and more vastly superior in juxtaposition to 360 games it's would only solidify the PS3's superiority. The rest of the generation at that point would be irrelevant because the new batch of games would disprove the old theories. How long will Xbot's judgement be clouded by this brand of sweet poison? Instead of admitting you're wrong you start to bend your mind with these delusions. It's clear that the PS3 will win the graphics war since it's already winning. Sony has lied to all of its consumers. The PS3 is not this powerhouse PC/Console they promised. The Blu-Ray won the HD movie format war but that is such a small percentile of actual movie buying public its still a non factor. The XBOX 360 needs no defending it is proven and is an amazing console for games. The PS3 is an amazing Blu-Ray player I love to watch movies on and not much more at the moment.

BTW, PS3's only been out 1.5 years or so. Not all of us are on the MS time table.

First point, the PS3 was late to launch. That doesn't mean it magically didn't exist when the 360 launched and it has not had less time.

Secondly, even if you do think Uncharted is the best looking game out at the moment so what? Does this mean the Sony hardware is superior and can anyone confidently say Uncharted couldn't be done on the Xbox?

I'd be looking at multi-plat performance if I wanted an indication of the relative graphics performance of each and in those terms, we all know how that pans out. Obviously the most noted point of reference is GTA IV, lower resolution, no AA and a not un-substantiable drop in framerate.. for the same game. That's tangible evidence unlike the massively subjective X exclusive looks better than Y exclusive.

I have no problem people giving their opinion on which game they think looks the best that's all it is. If GoW2 comes out and looks better than anything on the PS3 does that then prove anything?
