HUH? Thats not why I want it. Europ just loves Japan atm. Here in norway, there are more japanese books getting translated then the rest of the countries together. Other then that I think its as simple as that we love the way Japanese devs make games look, The 360 has PC style grafics while the PS3 has Console style grafics.

I don't even know how to respond to this except to say that I hope people still buy video game systems for the games they want to play.

After the intial rush, the ps3 is going to sit on shelves just like it did everywhere else. If they don't drop the price it's not going anywhere.
A large % of the ps3 market is teenagers. Christmas has already gone, so how are these youngsters going to get £400-£500?. Don't expect Europe to save the PS3 sales figures.

Oh come on now. We all know Euro's are looking to get that free Casino Royal BR movie when they purchase their PS3 ;) Oh and not to mention they have a killer line up for a launch.
Considering PS3 is getting a bunch of good games that were on 360 awhile ago, along with some exclusive stuff ready for launch. I'd say I'd be pretty excited too. This is more of a real launch than the floptastic Japan and NA launches.

There will always be a smaller percentage of people willing to spend alot to get the console at launch. It's simply costs too much money too sell to the casual and the general public after the launch period.
Don't ask me. Ask the European's that have already pre-ordered their PS3. I'm pretty sure they can answer your questions in terms of "How do they get the money".

I think the PS3 is doing decently well for how it's going for a high priced game console. We have NPD numbers coming out next Tuesday and as rumor is going on right now, the PS3 is outselling the 360. Don't underestimate the consumer for what they want. There could be a healthy amount of people waiting to purchase a PS3 later this year once they're off their PS2 high. Or maybe those that want PS3 exclusives that the 360 or Wii can't offer. It's still in a launch phase right now, which is something Sony should of done to begin with. Not launch worldwide.

I think over time the ps3 will sell well. I don't think there will be a runaway winner of the console war in terms of sales. I get the impression though that poeple think Europe will save the PS3s sales figures. I just don't see it happening. In the long term it will sell as it has a good brand name, back history of games to sell etc. The only thing stopping it selling big is the price.
All Europe is right now is the last fill of the PS3 launch. It will help some but we already know it'll sell out first day. After that it'll slow down and like every year when it comes close to Summer, we got a slowdown of all gaming.
not speaking for EU but in UK we have alot of casuals that bought the PS2 just because their friends bought it. also we have alot of chavs and they all have the exact mind. what one buys they all buy.
