...price. Price cut and PS3 will sell like hot pandas running barefoot in the graden with three weeneers and four baffling bafoons.ferrari_102games matter more to me then price but you can have your own opinion
I think it's because of the irrational, and often times ignorant fanboys. They continually allow sony to do the things they do because they blindly follow them. Im not saying the PS3 is a bad console, i love mine as well,im saying that the hate that it gets stems from the fanboys attacking everyone because they dont want to come to terms with being in second, or third place so they act like the console is THE entertainment device and nothing else comes close, which is false. I guess they got so used to being on top..........i dunno...........just my opinion ;)

Agreed, price drop is needed, but i even bought my PS3 when the original 60gb was still selling and I could afford it fine. Still though, it would definately hlp sell more, although in the economical climate right now, price drop wouldn't help a whole deal
Generally, this is why ppl buy one over the other, cos they DO think its superior.I think it's because of the irrational, and often times ignorant fanboys. I didn't buy one because it started off and still is way to expensive. Regardless even if a pink singing monkey came with it. I don't like it because of Sony's arrogances and the way they screw over their fans base.player_leo
Did you buy a 360 at launch?
So what if the ps3 got like 24 AAAe titles this year, you still wouldn't buy one because of Sony's arrogance?

Look at the supposed good lineup of games Sony had the last 6 months of last year. It surpassed the previous years titles by miles yet they sold LESS consoles. So the question is why would the PS3 sale less when it had much better games......easy, the price was too high. Knock the price down and you have instant success specially with all the recent and upcoming titles that seem to be better than the competition. Of course Sony doesn't want to lose another Billion on the hardware so I'm sure they are waiting until they can save more on production costs before that pricecut comes.

I LOVE PS3 though.patrickjw333no, the reason is because everyone talks badly about the system. people cant make their own decisions. Load of hooey. Same could be said about the XBOX or GC last gen, and it would be equally false. The PS3 is a system that had a lot going for it - most notably, a name brand which Sony knew would get them assured buys whatever they did. Sony used this name brand to Trojan horse technology into peoples' living room, at the expense of the average consumer... While the competition delivered more, faster, for less money. The reason the PS3 has done as well as it has is because people couldn't make their own decisions - so many people blindly jumped on the PS bandwagon expecting another PS2, and they've been slapped in the face for it. People not making their own decisions is what kept the PS3 in the game, not what has kept it in last place. If MS had released the hardware of the PS3, and Sony had released the hardware of the 360, MS wouldn't even be in the running. Blind loyalty is the main reason Sony is even competitive this gen.

What did they sneak in with their trojan PS3? Bluray? Just like DVD in the PS2?

I believe that people are not upset over the fact that the PlayStation 3 is difficult to develop for, but rather over Sony's justification as to why that is so.
A price cut and a PS3 is mine:D:D... But, we all know that... BTW, 20 million PS3s outthere means alot of people like it.
A PS3 is like a Jacket Potato. It's healthier and nicer than macdonalds, but 10,000x the price. However, beans do not compliment the PS3.
in other words, people that have crappy jobs or no jobs at all can't afford one
p2250
That's simplifying it by quite a bit, don't you think? I can afford one rather easily but choose not to buy one. I'd rather use my friends as guinea pigs and let them purchase the PlayStation 3 and see how the system evolves and what not. There currently isn't anything that really makes me want to have a PlayStation 3 after all.

Nope, not just like they did in the PS2 - but Sony fanyboys like to pretend like it's a mirror situation. But there are notable differences.. For one, DVD over VHS is a *huge* leap in capability and general technology, whereas Blu-Ray is... A bigger DVD. Whoopidty doo. For two, digital distribution is a very real competitor to Blu Ray which is poised to steal a lot of BR's thunder - which will make BR an uncecessary addition for a lot of movie fans... But if they want PS, they get (and pay for) Blu-Ray. Again, making BR in a video game console an imposition. Three, DVD was notably further along in its lifespan when the PS2 was released than Blu-Ray was in its lifespan when the PS3 was released. As in, the unwilling consumer foots more of the bill, rather than the willing technophile. Four... The PS3 cost $300 more than the PS2 did at launch - that's twice the price! Sad, seeing as the PS2 launch lineup would take a big wet steaming dump on the PS3's. I'll take the sign that you only chose one thing in my entire post to roll your eyes at as a grudging admission that I hit the nail on the head. Thanks for agreeing that Sony pretty much bunngered up their golden egg laying brand name. And after hearing this... Can you seriously say that the PS2/DVD thing was JUST like the PS3/Blu-Ray thing? Or are you really so steeped in Playstation doublethink that you think that with a straight face? It's not that the PS3 is too expensive... (I'm sure I've spent the same or more on the 360 all together.)
It's just that, already owning a 360 I don't feel the need to spend $400+ on another gaming console.
I could spend that $400 on a whole bunch of new (and future) games.
Perhaps if the PS3 was cheaper I'd pick it up as a bluray player (and then take advantage of what games it has to offer,) but with prices of stand alone bluray players comming down Sony better hurry.
Anyone who buys a console should consider that eventually the total cost of buying their games will exceed the price of the console. I personally think if this equation works out then the console is worth buying for the potential customer. For me its true, thats why I don't have a 360 and I'm not the one who brought a wii into my family.
