What is it? memory limitation, or lazy devs?Mystery_WriterA little bit of both I think...more towards lazy devs though. Its relative I guess. Because of the memory limitations, they don't want to find a way to write proper workaround, so they just write quick and dirty code.
PS3 = better

hey a ps3 fanboy on a gaming forum says that the ps3 hardware is better than 360 hardware. It MUST be true...Â

the 360 has 512 unified ram which I assume is like having a matched pair on the pc
the ps3 is using 256 of the same type of ram as the 360, and 256 of XDR ram which is faster. The problem seems to be that all the advantage you gained from using the XDR ram is lost since you don't have your ram in synch.

The funny thing is that cows can never really say how much more powerful the ps3 is than the 360 well because honestly nobody knows sony threw together the ps3 in such an odd way that nobody is really quite sure how to optimize it. One thing that is for sure is that no matter how well optimized the power difference between the ps3 and the 360 is less than the difference between the xbox and ps2. Most people didn't really see that as a huge deal last gen so it's an even smaller deal now.
lazy devs. with Oblivion being much better on the PS3, this proves its up to the devs. Note: most of these multiplats were developed for X360 then ported to PS3.Resistance and Motorstorm arnt even that good........:| and Virtua Fighter 5 is muiltyplat, And after the 360 update.......the 360 version will most likely be better due to online functions
Games like Resistance, Motorstorm, Virtua Fighter 5 shows a glimpse of what PS3 can do.

No matter how many times Sony fanboys keep on repeating that, it will not make it come true.
 Q. What does it mean to be a PS3 fanboy? A. Just repeat what Sony tell you on how great the PS3 and games will be in the future then just wait and wait and wait ................ Well wait untill they deliver on there promises or untill you find out sony has not been telling you the whole truth again.
should we consider multiplats comparison as the deciding factor on which console is more powerful? I mean after all, that's the only objective power comparison that we have between the two.
We could, if everyone agrees, wait for a year and see how many multiplats look better on X360 vs. how many look better on the PS3. And then declare a winner for the most powerful console this gen.
what do you guys think? wouldn't that be fair?
Then why are games typically better on the Xbox 360? :?PS3 = better

It was out longer idiots.SeanDiffThe PS2 was out longer than Xbox 1. Yet Halo was graphically superior to any PS2 game ever made. Also, ports were always better on Xbox. Higher res textures, better frame rates, etc. So, the PS3 should show it's power now, if it is truly superior. Instead, people keep making excuses for it.
[QUOTE="SeanDiff"]I thought the 360 had better Ram?;) So did I, I've always heard that the Ps3 had to share its ram with something else in the console when the 360 could have it distributed anywhere.PS3 = better

haha awsome point man its so true. If the PS3 is really and truly so much more powerful than the 360 then the difference should be as apparent as Halo was back in the day.Â

The only thing cows can grasp onto is a one year old port. Cows don't have the courage to list games simultaneously released on both consoles!

Take your pick:
Better dev tools.
Hardware designed with games in mind.
Better GPU
Any of those will suffice. The PS3 being delayed a year basically kills the typical cow "but....bu....but....teh xflop1.5 had and extra year of dev time...." argument.

Ownage approved!! :D
The Xbox displayed its superiority over the PS2 on day one. The PS3 should be able to do the same if it was truly superior.

if you did any research you find that almost all multiplatform games have come out for the 360 first.here are two decent game i could find released on the same day.

they look pretty cloes to me. the 360 does have a little advantage.

I never said "so" superior. Just "superior". Clearly you have provided proof of that.
If Teh CELL & Teh RSX were so much better as cows believe, then the game would show it....just like XBox games did to PS2 games last gen.
Not really because there is no real way of knowing if the multiplats that are better on either system are a result of the system itself or because the developer was to lazy to make both versions equal.should we consider multiplats comparison as the deciding factor on which console is more powerful? I mean after all, that's the only objective power comparison that we have between the two.

What is it? memory limitation, or lazy devs?Mystery_WriterA better title would be: Why almost all UBISOFT multiplatform games look better on x360. And that can be chalked up to lazyness
Much easier to dev for.Teufelhuhn
One of the only correct answers; the other being 'porting.'Â Games built from the ground up on the PS3 look much better than their multi-plat counterparts.
What is it? memory limitation, or lazy devs?Mystery_WriterEarly in the PS3's life cycle. This is exactly what was happening when the original Xbox came out. Xbox was more powerful but was getting ports that didn't perform as well. It took awhile for this to turn around and the games to start looking better on the Xbox. I bet this will happen for PS3 too. More time with the system for devs means more usage of the resources.
Lazy Devs no doubt, but we have yet to see a multiplatform game built from the ground up on the PS3 then ported to the 360...once a couple of those come out we can confirm this statement (hopefully :P).Spag1091wasn't Virtua Tennis announced first for the PS3? if so, wouldn't that indicate the development of the PS3 version started before the X360?
What is it? memory limitation, or lazy devs?Mystery_WriterThey had a year with 360 to be accustomed to it, the ps3 on the other hand is new.
