is merely the fact that I can get most of the games on Pc, even with a modest GPU ( NVIDIA 9600 GT 1GB ).
- Honestly I make it a matter of principle not to pay for xbox live, because I can get to play games online without paying elsewhere.
- Consoles usually make all games run decently and you don't have to worry about specs, while Pc gaming can provide more hassle at times. but often a "google it" move leads you to the solution. it really doesn't take much Pc's savviness to play games really.
- Poor amount of exclusives these days, where a cross-platform approach is for most devs necessary. The only exclusives I could really enjoy on consoles came from games like Alan Wake and Uncharted, but few exclusive titles don't make it worth owning a console or more for me. Nintendo is not being considered here, because it's exempt from this lack of exclusives, yet it's plagued by different problems, like lack of 3rd party support and lack of HD, which for me is becoming a big issue, being used to play games in HD.
- Facebook, Twitter, Browser etc on consoles make them look like wannabe Pc's. I can get all those things on a Pc and they work better.
- Nowadays I consider computers and smartphones the most useful devices, since they can offer so much in terms of multifunctionality, therefore I consider an electronic device worth in proportion to how many things it can dowell, so my money would rather go there, than to one (or more) these devices than that try to do so many things, which are, though, done better on other platforms - mainly Pc's - and even struggle against Pc at doing the one thing that they're studied for: gaming.
It sounds incredible to me that such gaming focused machines cannot really do much better an be a true alternative to Pc, this latter more than just a gaming machine.
All in all I think Pc gaming is the way to go these days and this comes from someone who loved consoles, but because they offered so much that could not be found elsewhere.
