is merely the fact that I can get most of the games on Pc, even with a modest GPU ( NVIDIA 9600 GT 1GB ).

  • Honestly I make it a matter of principle not to pay for xbox live, because I can get to play games online without paying elsewhere.

  • Consoles usually make all games run decently and you don't have to worry about specs, while Pc gaming can provide more hassle at times. but often a "google it" move leads you to the solution. it really doesn't take much Pc's savviness to play games really.

  • Poor amount of exclusives these days, where a cross-platform approach is for most devs necessary. The only exclusives I could really enjoy on consoles came from games like Alan Wake and Uncharted, but few exclusive titles don't make it worth owning a console or more for me. Nintendo is not being considered here, because it's exempt from this lack of exclusives, yet it's plagued by different problems, like lack of 3rd party support and lack of HD, which for me is becoming a big issue, being used to play games in HD.

  • Facebook, Twitter, Browser etc on consoles make them look like wannabe Pc's. I can get all those things on a Pc and they work better.

  • Nowadays I consider computers and smartphones the most useful devices, since they can offer so much in terms of multifunctionality, therefore I consider an electronic device worth in proportion to how many things it can dowell, so my money would rather go there, than to one (or more) these devices than that try to do so many things, which are, though, done better on other platforms - mainly Pc's - and even struggle against Pc at doing the one thing that they're studied for: gaming.

It sounds incredible to me that such gaming focused machines cannot really do much better an be a true alternative to Pc, this latter more than just a gaming machine.

All in all I think Pc gaming is the way to go these days and this comes from someone who loved consoles, but because they offered so much that could not be found elsewhere.

thoughts?

I have a feeling Sony will just milk its high selling IPs next-generation, and won't invest in new UNIQUE IPS, not just new ones. For shame. Nintendo and PC next generation, I guess.

Riiiiiiight. That also explains why one of those accounts has no avatar, and that both the accounts have the same 3 games played. For all we know those could be extra profiles from your buddy's PS3.

That's cool if it's whats best for you. No one can really argue with that. For me, I will always be with consoles as long as they are here. There are just too many games that I would miss if I didn't.

you complain about Sony using it's existing IP's but then say "oh well i'll stick with Nintendo" I mean i'm not gonna trash Nintendo 1st party games, i really like them as well. but don't you see a bit of a paradox here? Nintendo is the epitome of a brand that stands on same franchises that they've had since the very beginning. At least with Sony - and i'm willing to bet - they'll invest in some new IP's and try and improve on existing ones next generation. I mean this generation the new Sony IP's would be LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted, Resistance, inFamous, ModNation Racers. How is LittleBigPlanet and ModNation not being unique games on the console scene. Or Uncharted and inFamous NOT being stellar games in their own right? Give Sony some credit, whether you like these games or not, Sony is trying to make games that YOU and I will more likely play. I doubt you and i are interested in WiiMusic, WiiParty, or many of the new IP's Nintendo has trotted out.

It might have been unique this generation, but not next generation. Plus, I enjoy more of Nintendo's games than Sony's game. The only game's I LOVE from Sony is WipEout, Gran Turismo, and the ICO games.

Fair enough. I love a lot of Sony's first party games: Uncharted, inFamous, Resistance, ICO games. but i also really like Nintendo's, the obvious ones Mario, Zelda, and Donkey Kong

He's not bashing, he was making reasonable assumptions based on facts and opinions. He wasn't insulting it, he just stated the facts and his opinion of those facts. Now if the facts are insulting then that's not his fault, and the opinions are only his views of the facts.

While PC is my main gaming system because it is the best, I also love my PS3. I haven't touched my PC for almost a month because of my PS3. I can't wait til I have the extra cash to build a new PC.

Good to see that us PC gamer's have "converted" you to PC gaming. :) I remember your thread from 2010 where you were arguing as to why console gaming is better than PC gaming.

And I do agree with putting twitter, fb, etc. on consoles is a total wannabe PC. Try twitting using a gamepad, that's just lol.

I do agree that smartphones and PC's are the most useful device. If I want to update my status I could do easily do it on a smartphone but on my PS3 I would have to use the joystick to move over every letter and then hit x, that's a painfully and lame way to do status update.

BTW, you should get Steam and look at the sales that they have like the holiday, summer and weekend sales. I brought from example Assassins Creed II for like $5.00 even the newer Assasins Creed costed like $37 on Steam during the Holiday Sales compared to $60 on the consoles. Not to mention we don't have to pay $60 for Xbox Live for multiplayer, we could just do that for FREE on Steam.

Yep. I'll be investing on a Wii-U next generation, in which is guaranteed to be the most powerful next generation & has awesome 1st/2nd party games more so than Sony's lackluster 1st/2nd party games (plus it'll have all those awesome 3rd party games as well).

How is Modnation racers unique?

Make your own character using the tools they provide, put together your own car. make your own tracks and share them and there is LOTS you can do with your tracks. Maybe I'm wrong, but that is rather unique on consoles. I mean ModNation had a better track creator then anything Gran Turismo even touched when it came to that feature.

honestly if pc got halo and uncharted plus was actually affordable for EVERYONE to game with, i dont see why anyone WOULDNT switch to pc. PC games are superior to their console counterparts, theres just no doubting that.... But dont forget why consoles were invented in the first place, to create an easy, cheaper, more accessible way to give the mainstream public good gamin experiences. PC gaming is killer expensive to keep up with, and not the average joe can understand how to keep his computer updated. The result? Most PC gaming is done by people that would, for example, go on system wars forums haha. Theres a large population of pc gamers, but its become a minority compared to console gaming and perhaps thats sad to see but its easy to understand why.

I admit, it will be better than current gen consoles but a decent margin, but it really doesn't stand a change against the xbox 720 and (when it comes out) the ps4. As long as the ps4 doesn't use an extremely complicated CPU like the ps3 it will most likely be the best console next-gen, also it's probably coming out in 2016 or somewhere arond there).
