The sales of the PS3 and it's software have slide into the ABYSS of NO RETURN!

The TRUTH is the Sales of the PS3 have sank to NEW LOWS here latly and it really is looking really grim even in Japan the numbers are outright ATROCIOUS.

And Software sales for PS3 are just well just PATHETIC.

How can Sony recover from this? I truly do not think this is a recoverable situation for Sony. Expect a PS4 much sooner then later. If they even make it to that. There game devision might be in RUMBLE by then.

Well i think Sony knows they are in the worst catch 22 situation. Becuase they know the PS2 is the only thing seeling good still and making money. So they know they need to kill it off to help get the PS3 going but if they kill the PS2 and the PS3 is still dead in the water then they will be DOUBLE SHOT IN THE FOOT.

They can very eaily recover from this. The last decent game to be released was MLB 07 The Show. Other than that it has just been movie tie in games. Surf's up, Spiderman 3, Fantastic 4, Pirates. This week the PS3 will finally be getting some decent game in Rainbow 6 and The Darkness. Every month after this month will have some must buy titles.

Things are just starting to pick up.

Thsi is true, bt only the gaming division would be in trouble if that were to happen. Sony has alot of electronic branches.

why? it has decent games now FNR3,Oblivion, VF5, AC4, R:fom et cetera. How much more time does the PS3 need.

I will probably pick one up late 2008 or so once the price drops and we get rumble reintroduced and the library has filled out. I bet many others will do the same. Casuals control the industry and they are not early adopters.

This is the kind of thread we need less of. "Look cows, your system is FAILING. Stop supporting it! Just get rid of it and buy a my system!" It's so pathetic. Maybe if haters had something good to say about their own system they wouldn't have to resort to such miserable excuses for flame bait.

PS3 will come back this fall. The price will drop and it will have a load of good exclusives. Right now it's the most expensive system and only has one good exclusive (soon to be two with Ninja Gaiden Sigma).

What the ignorants can't seem to grasp the concept of is that PS3 will not be $599 and only have one exclusive game forever. The system's level of success will not stay the same because the situation is changing. The idea that PS3 cannot recover only works if you do not aknowledge thes PS3 will be cheaper and have lots of high-profile exclusives by the end of the year. You will not hear people like the TC aknowledge any of that though, unless they're saying something totally ignorant like "EVERY single one of those games will be a flop, and PS3 is still to expensive for ANYONE to buy it."

I think the software sales are far worse then hardware sales in the long run. PS3 is going to have a hard time getting exclusice 3rd party games with it sales so low. 360 sales are doing great so they get games like AC6, Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon and many other 3rd party exclusive games.Eltroz

The 360 is doing pretty pathetic too FYI. If we judge the outcome of the console war just based on sales right now, then the Wii is going to replace videogames as we know them, and hardcore gaming will be dead by next generation.

when has releasing games ever turned around a system? It didn't save the dreamcast. Sure, they will give it a good boost, but that boost is never long lived. Theps3 could release some great games, but that wouldn't solve the other major problems it hasGunSmith1_basic

dreamcast was backed by sega, sega went bankupt. and its not difficult. a price drop will help enormously especially in europe i mean it costs 850 there, Sony should definately drop the price there. mgs4 is coming out and i hear the japanese love the mgs series. as for theUS there are plenty of great games coming out in q3/q4coupled with aprice drop the sales should pick up here too.
