Pretty simple question. What's the scariest game you've ever played? Made you feel uneasy or whatever.
Anyone remember the first Clock Tower for the PS1? Holy Crap that game made me **** my pants when i was a kid.

[QUOTE="i5750at4Ghz"][QUOTE="Badosh"]Games aren't scary.BadoshPlay Amnesia. I have, not scary. Fantastic game though. Then your either lying or you just dont scare.

Yes you do. You're on an internet forum :P

Indeed. Games generaly can't be scary... not even tryng to be.
The closest thing to a scary experience for me was Silent Hill 1 on PS, but that was when I was a kid.
Amnesia changed that... good lord, that game is frightening.

What makes it so terrifying? Feel free to go into detail and spoil it, I doubt I'll ever play the game anyway.Amensia was scary in the beginning, but by half-way through the game, I pretty much realized there is only one enemy, and I became way too comfortable with that (in other words, I pretty much knew how to survive every encounter with it for the rest of the game, sapping the fear factor out).
A good horror game should always introduce the unpredictable, new horror monsters and elements that keep you on your toes, Amensia failed to do this unfortunately (still a very good game).
I honestly find the atmosphere (and creatures) in Stalker to be much more engaging, since there is always that feeling that I never know what I'm going to find when I go in those dark labs and caves (and not to mention, Chernobyl itself is so bleak and mysterious).
Wow, not many people in sw now about survival horror, I'm surprised. Definately FF2 and the original SH
lol, far from scary. Check silent hill on the psn store if you can.I haven't played many horror games, but Bioshock could be kinda creepy sometimes.

I got a lot from the earlier days but Silent Hill 2 left the biggest impact in terms of the horror factor.
Amnesia looks like a good skin crawler but something I could find myself finishing. Thats coming from someone who doesnt typically play horror games. I can get a good sense of how I would feel playing it. Foxhound fox always mentions system shock, and so I looked it up. I probably wouldnt even make it 3 hours.
As for playing a game, a few of the silent hill games made me pretty uneasy back in my younger days.

System Shock 2 isn't scary either, but thankfully, it's still a hell of a great game, a must-play classic (if you can get it to run that is).
Fatal Frame and Silent Hill series. I enjoyed Amnesia because of the hide and seek style gameplay. Made me on the edge, much like MGS, but not scary at all.Mr_CumberdaleWhat mgs4 was a pretty much a pure action game amnesia doesn't even have weapons.

It's just the tension I feel when I'm forced to sneak around.
When I was a kid, my brothers and I took turns playing the older Resident Evil games and Silent Hill for PS1. No other experience were scarier than those games at night in the dark. I remember one night the power went out while we were playing and it just creeped us out even more.
We recently tried the same thing with Dead Space 2 and it felt much more action-packed than being actually scary.
