Just because Ryu Hayabusa uses melee weapons to hack away through enemies doesn't make Ninja Gaiden hack and slash action. Clearly its an RPG since you increase your max HP and MP, buy and level up weapons, obtain currency, buy restoration items, stat changing equips, etc..

Sorry buddy, but teh fact that the combat is shooting, and its entirely in first person makes it fps shooter, and another inconvinient fact for you, just because you dont belive in something, doesnt mean it doesnt exist.

I think the shooter RPG thing does exist. Fallout 3 comes to mind. Shooter elements and RPG elements combined into one. Although it's more of an RPG.
