Erm, yeah it does. Same heroes, taking the current story a bit further. Just take Burning Crusade (against Illidan), and the newly announced xpack (against Arthas). Not to mention quests that explain much of the universe, and what happened (only one that comes to mind is a chain in SMV that explains how Gul'dan sundered Shadow Moon Valley by his actions).

Wow, re-reading this, I realize I played that game too much :P

As for the list, the only thing I'd change would be CAPCOM to Megaman. Was such an awesome series back in the NES/SNES days.

I played Warcraft 3, but I didn't like it very much, it was a good game, and the undead were a nice faction (I enjoyed their campaign), but the game as a whole didn't convince me, I didn't like the RPG elements added, I still prefer Age of Empires II and C&C Red Alert. Can't speak of Starcraft, as I never played it.
