Ok lets get the elephant out of the room right away. We have lots of butthurt system warriors on here making claims that Stalker 2 was unplayable on Xbox and it was trash and blah blah blah blah.

I had been personally defending Stalker 2 on Xbox and was being called BS and whatever else.

Well looky what we have here.

And here's another good ol actual gameplay assessment with gameplay and thoughts.

And as for tools and tips.

I've been posting on multiple threads about some of the bugs and easy fixes on Xbox. The stick drift issue is an easy fix. just go into settings and controller then change the aim assist from default to custom and keep it at the same setting of 60 and the stick drift should for the most part no pun intended drift away especially once you get past the early prologue of the game.

Also for anyone saying Stalker 2 does not look good on Series X well you must be drunk or blind becuase that is flat out false. It looks great on Series X.

Graphics tips.

Bump up gamma and brightness to your TV and also bump up the HDR accordingly if your TV supports HDR and if needed tweak contrast levels. If you know what you're doing and do this Stalker 2 will look phenomenal on the Series X.

Audio Tips.

The Audio in Stalker 2 is also great. Make the adjustments to your setup.

Additional controller settings.

Tweak them to the camera speed and to your liking don't be lazy make these tweaks for better aim and such.

Thoughts with settings and tips.

I personally recommend you play on performance mode on Series X. If you tweak the graphics setting like suggested performance mode looks dam good really dam good and runs pretty dang good and will obviously get even better after a few patches but it's 100% playable and enjoyable on Series X currently and is not having as many bugs as PC is currently.

Final thoughts.

I want to say Happy Thanksgiving to all my system warriors and hope you have a great holiday and holidays and for those of you that have been bashing Stalker 2 on Xbox. Well I've been telling you that you're wrong and now we have vindication so maybe you can have some CROW!!!!!!

PC tips:

• Download Lyall's mod for proper ultrawide.
• Add the following at the end of your Input.ini

you don't need to be so defensive, it's fine on xbox, it's just age old system wars bantz by pc only gamers winding you up.

i remember cyberpunk 2077 on the ps4, now that was unplayable, stalker 2 is not like that. it's biggest problems on console are the bugs and balancing / economy issues. i've not encountered anything game breaking yet but hear from the mid point on shit can seriously go west and halt you from progressing

I honestly believe Stalker 2 should get an updated review by GameSpot and other sites as most reviewed the game before the day one patch and clearly Stalker 2 is way better and GameSpot would likely give it a higher score if they played with the day one patch.

With the day one patch Stalker 2 is easily an 8 to 9 review score and likely another patch or two be the true masterpiece it intends to be and a 10 in most hardcore gamers minds.

Looking forward to mods coming to Xbox soon as well. Stalker 2 is going to be Dope AF for like the next 10-15 years

Yup, I heard they are releasing the SDK soon. The Unreal Engine is already ultra moddable, but the SDK is gonna open up a lot of possibilities. I can see people porting the old STALKER maps into this new one.

Hopefully Staler 2 will become the endless game and have tons of new missions and stories and tweaks to be added for years to come.

PC Gamers actually have standards of quality. One of them being 60fps as a minimum framerate. Not sometimes hitting 60fps while looking blurry, with image stability issues, 6 seconds freezes (0fps), and bugs like you get on Xbox.

Anybody who cares about quality should be avoiding this game until further patches. It will be a great game on PC soon, but Xbox is limited to shit hardware, so there is not much hope.

The best tip is to not play it on shit hardware once the game has been fully patched.

Quick technical tips update.

So I stared up Stalker 2 this evening and I was strangely getting the stick drift issue again and I was like no freaking way I had been good for the past week.

So apparently MS pushed out a recent controller update becuase after a system reboot and playing with the options settings in Stalker 2 it was still doing it so I checked for a controller update on my Xbox and sure enough there was one ready to update.

After I did the controller update things were good to go and no more Stalker 2 stick drift and Stalker 2 in fact felt even smoother and better all around. MS must of been working with GSC on this and now it's good to go and feels really good.

Anyone on Xbox go into settings and update your controller immediately.

I have not self owned myself at all. You have. You openly said you have to wait well after game releases before you even play a game. That's problem number one for you on PC you're always waiting a long time before you can play the game on PC in a good playable state.

The game is a 70 just like I predicted. I'd still like to try it at some point, but it isn't a priority to say the least. It just goes on a long list of hundreds of other "I'll get to them some day" games.

I stopped playing the Xbox version when the drift was too much to want to contend with. I will return when it gets fixed.

I see reports dead zone issue was fixed, when I fired it up the other day it wasn't. I uninstalled it then. **sigh** gonna download it again.

My biggest problem with Stalker is that I feel like a noob playing it. I have encountered the first monster, and he keeps turning invisible and kicks my ass with only one or two melee attacks. I only have a handgun with 40 bullets which don't do much damage or don't hit him apparently. Is this game supposed to be hard?

@pmanden: Historically, yes. It's survival and tactics first and not your traditional shooter.

@pmanden: Its brutal. Taking on a Bloodsucker that early with only a pistol is going to be extremely hard, but the best tactics for those monsters is to find a corner - then they can’t hit you from behind. You’ll see a little distortion as they come in to attack so shoot then….it’ll take a couple of clips, so maybe run, escape, find a better gun and come back later.

@sealionact: Thanks for the advice. I couldn't run away from that bastard first, because I was trapped every time, but after about 20 tries, I finally ran the hell away. This game is difficult, even humans put up a fight, but I like a good challenge.

You need to try and climb up onto something or climb go up stairs they can't climb.

Oh and by the way just push through trust me once you get a few hours into the game and get some better gear and guns and upgrades it really opens up and is great.
