Keep dreaming sheep.
If you have GTA4 or Doom 4 (hypothetically) on all platforms....a majority will only pay attention to the 360, PS3 and PC versions. In this situation, Graphics are simply the deciding factor, with gameplay coming close second. Most gamers will likely be WOWED by the eye-candy abilities of powerful platforms. Sorry to break it to you.
Sorry, sheep, but that desperate 3rd party flocking to Wii theory just won't and will never work.
The Wii sold plenty of consoles that were purchased for the most part by the Nintendo Loyalists and the main problem for Third Party Developers is that Nintendo Loyalists for the most part purchase only Nintendo software.
This bodes badly for the future library on the Wii as when gamers consider multiplat. games its always lower quality on the Wii if you consider game features other than the controller.
that's the theory but i don't think many people (even the ones who use that argument) really trust it. CaseyWegner
Yeah, this might be the first gen that this might be false. Although the 3rd party is picking up for the Wii, it still is low compared to the PS3 and 360.

why not just keep making games for ps2? plus ps2 graphics = to wii.

I'm sorry, but I call BS on the whole 'Nintendo Loyalist' argument. It's just ludicrous.
"HEY! Here's this great game that got awesome reviews and looks really fun to play! Oops, it's not by Nintendo... Back on the shelf it goes."

Nintendo is the developer with the most games out for the system at the moment, and they tend to make high quality games. That is the reason why 1st party games are dominating, not because of some imagined sense of loyalty to the company.
See, there's a problem there.
While more sales does theoretically equal more games, saying "wait 'till they shift focus" doesn't hold much cred here.
So right now it's 360>Wii~PS3 (true that it's opinion with all 3, but according to GS 360>PS3~Wii), not Wii>360>PS3 because of sales.
I think that there's not enough historical precedence to support such a statement, nor do I think it makes much sense as an absolute statement.Teufelhuhn
how so? every single system that has won since snes vs genesis has had the biggest variety of the best games..
that's the theory but i don't think many people (even the ones who use that argument) really trust it. CaseyWegner
Because the hardware of the Wii isnt comparable to the 360/ps3.
And yes sheep, hardware matters. Id rather have metroid, galaxy and brawl with nextgen graphics/physics etc. etc. than swinging around with my wiimote.

PC+X360+PS3 still has a larger userbase than the Wii alone; thus the multiplats will remain on the other systems. (The Wii's hardware is too weak to handle multiplats.)
Well.. In gens where all platforms are rather similar this is definitly true...
But.. the wii is quite different.. Although when(if) the WIi sells twice as much as the xbox360 this might come true..
omgimba
That actually holds some weight. When the Wii has more sales than the combined competition, we'll start to see a big shift towards the Wii's development.
What killed the Game Cube?
Lack of Third Party game sales in equal numbers to Nintendo game sales so developers seeing poor game sales started jumping ship from the GC to the PS2 and the then nascent X-Box.
How are third party game sales on the Wii?
IMO the Xbox had the best games last Gen over the PS2.

LOL I don't think I just read your post right... How can you think that?!?!?!?!?

3rd party games didn't come to the gamecube mostly because of disc capacity issues. PS2 and Xbox were both on DVDs.

that's actually very much true. however, anyone could plainly see that the wii's hardware isn't capable of handling games such as bioshock - unless they make some major league downgrade.
the wii has a weak fanbase - the casuals - a fanbase that could leave nintendo at anytime they wish. the hardcores however, there aren't much "sheep" to support the wii. so saying the wii is the best option for hardcore and "best" games isn't really looking at it logically so NO.

LOL I don't think I just read your post right... How can you think that?!?!?!?!?
My favourite games were PGR2, Forza, Ninja Gaiden Black, Rallisport Challenge2, Dead or Alive online and Rainbow six 3 BA, the PS2 had nothing that touched them in my opinion.

You also forgot to add that almost every multiplat title was better for the xbox also.

Great logic.
3rd parties are trying to cash in on the Wii (Boogie), but the attempts are poor and have poor game sales as a result.
This logic holds true when all competitors are half azz similar, however Wii's hardware is very last gen with the only new gen feature being the controls. Games like Manhunt 2 are goingto Wii and Ps2. Not PS3, not 360, not the PC, PS2. In fact, I would say the continued success of PS2 has helped the Wii more than anything, publishers can make a game for the biggest fan base of last gen and the new up and coming of this gen at the same time.
However the hardcore (the guys who spend alot of money on games) buy games on the other platforms because they want something actually next gen. The Nintendo fanboys and fans of Nintendo in general buy Nintendo games. The non gamers are still playing Wii sports.
Lets look at this slightly different. At the end of last gen, Xbox and GC were about tied with worldwide sales, however (in the US anyway), all the 3rd party support had moved to Xbox and PS2. Not because those systems were better but because 3rd parties realised where they made money. Many people owned a GC as a secondary console, only for exclusives, many own a Wii for the same reason. Wii has great software sales for 1st party or a 3rd party exclusive (if it's good), but if you look at big money makers like Madden, Wii has by far the worst sales.
that's the theory but i don't think many people (even the ones who use that argument) really trust it. CaseyWegner
Well that theory worked with everyother gen
Atari-Had most games and most sales
NES-had most games and most sales
SNES-had most games and most sales
PS-had most games and most sales
PS2-Had most games and most sales.
I don't know why the theory won't work for this gen. I don't think we can have two winners in SW.
Wasn't Goldeneye third party? I think it was, sorry if I'm wrong, I have never played that game (gasps all around). The Wii sold plenty of consoles that were purchased for the most part by the Nintendo Loyalists and the main problem for Third Party Developers is that Nintendo Loyalists for the most part purchase only Nintendo software.

Ubisoft said the Wii makes them lots of money, even if they release casual party games, they can still make a fortune. So after, they can finance games for 360/ps3 and pc.
Srry.
Sales does not always equal better games. :|
The Wii should be considered as a toy,not a console.

No, it was produced by Rare, which was second party at the time and published by Nintendo.
Anyway, about the theory....I think we can all agree that this generation is radically different than previous generations, yes? Then while that theory held true in previous generations (though a Genesis vs SNES debate could go either way), the results could be radically different as well.

Indeed, sales do not a better game make. The Wii's user base is in love with so much casual crap thats what many dev's will play to, because s*** sells if you spinkle it with magic dust and make it trendy.
