That's the worst especially when you like a game enough that you want to 100% it only to find that's impossible becuase of multiplayer achievements....

I don't mind MP achievements as long as they aren't a grind or ask you to do something ridiculous.Well I played this racing game Fuel, and I wanted to get all the achievements, but some of the MP achievements told me to do things like beat five of my friends in a race, or random other people, IIRC.
The problem was that none of my friends had the game, and I probably only ever saw three people online, and I played it for like 67 hours...
The game will forever be incomplete :(
I'd imagine the best solution to this is to not give a damn about trophies or achievements.
There are different levels of obsession. There are some people who will buy games just because they're an easy platinum trophy. There are also people who will force themselves through games just to get a platinum.
I think trophies are cool, and when an unlocked trophy or achievement pops up, I read the description and I'm like, "oh, cool". I've never read a list of achievements before playing a game and have never consciously trophy hunted. The only trophies I have came from pure chance.
I think trophies and achievements are good additions, but it's obvious that they can have a negative effect if they're taken seriously.
