To be honest, I don't get it. I think its gotten out of hand. I just don't understand it, why am i supposed to take offence to this term. "Fanboy" suggest to me a person that pefers one console over another and I don't see a problem with that, i bought my PS3 because I preferred it to the competition.

which leads me to the thought that maybe its a term used for trolls, but then I see it used to mock someone stating that in their opinion the ps3 is better then the Xbox. On the PS3 forum! I thought that was the reason people bought the ps3. In all i don't understand why it's used or why i should find it offensive. Care to explain?

fanboys are more than ppl that just prefer one product over another. they are fanatical about their product. to the point were they will make things up and defy all logic in order to support their product and bash a competitor.

Most of the time it's used as an insult. I don't take offence to it, though.
