Can someone please define the term "overrated"? Because its lost its significance here in system wars. Its a term that is abused and used by people to put down a game that they either: don't like, never played for any significant amount of time, or are jealous of. The thing is, none of these criteria make a game "overrated". It just makes said game a game you don't like, haven't played significanlt, or are jealous of. Period. /discussion.

I would define 'over-rated' as a game which doesn't live up to the media scores given to it - in your opinion of course.

There's no such thing as overrated. There's just popular things that everybody else likes and you don't and you don't know why everybody else except you doesn't like them. Its that simple. That's the definition of overrated.

Halo 2 single player = meh Halo 2 multiplayer = best last gen on consoles. Depending on how you look at it, it can be very overrated (if you look at a single player point of view), or incredible (if you look at a multiplayer point of view).

you have horrible taste in games And Pokemon is cool. I wasn't even saying that they were bad, just overrated. Gears of War = too short Warioware = very short Twilight Princess = played out/nothin' new. All great, but nothing really outstanding.

The word "overrated" means nothing in the first place, whenever it's used to descirbe something, be it movies, music, games or anything. People think that because they don't like something that many others like that means it's "overrated". Of course that's not true, it just means you didn't like it. The only way something could be overrated is if nobody liked it, but it was still highly rated. Make much sense? Hardly. Saying "that's overrated" adds nothing to an argument, it doesn't make you any more convincing, it has no effect whatsoever, except perhaps make you look egotistical. It is most certainly a word that should be banned, being that it has no meaning and is used over and over again, yet is just a different way of saying "I don't like it", which is just an opinion.
