Yeah the graphics, gameplay and sound is important when you buy a new console but the thing thats most important is the consoles stability. Think about it, when you buy a next gen console you want it to last atleast 4-5 years, not just a couple of weeks.

I have to say that PS3 and Wii are the most stable consoles this generation, and 360 is the most unreliable, right from the off 360 has had major problems withs its hardware; like overheating, ring of death, disc scratching etc etc.

I mean most people are on their 3rd-4th 360's which must really REALLY get annoying, if it was me I would have traded it in for a PS3 or a Wii along time ago, why do guys stand for this continuous hardware melfunctions? :|, don't you want a console which is reliable and stable. After all thats the most important thing you have to look for when you buy a next generation console.

All this PS3 and Wii bashing is futile, at the end of day atleast those guys have a console which wont break on them every few days. Breakbox 360 is a sign that you guys have to buy a PS3 or Wii NOW! :D

I prefer the actual games on the consoles as apposed to the stability if the games are good enough then I will put up with unreliability issues just like the millions of 360 owners.

Yeah but its not like PS3 and Wii doesn't have good games, only fan-boys will say that PS3/Wii has nothing.

PS3 and Wii will have fantastic games coming up this year which will show the strengths of these systems, by year end the difference in sales between PS3, Wii and 360 will be minimal and by next year Wii/PS3 will overtake the 360, by that time people will be on their 7th/8th 360 and still blindly saying that it rules

Even if I go through 20 360s I wouldn't mind since the games are good enough. I can say the same things about the Wii as well, not th PS3 since I havent even seen one in real life yet. Saying blindly that its rules doesn't happen if people are sick of hardware malfunctions then the 360 wouldn't have sold over 10 million.

PS3 and Wii will have fantastic games in the future but so will the 360.

I wouldn't be so mean about it but I agree. The most important thing to me is that the console is stable enough to run when and what I want it to run. I had problems with my old Xbox doing that. With all the posts of the Xbox360, I couldn't risk it again. (There is no argument who offers the most games at this point, the best games at this point, the most refined user experience at this point, the best online environment, etc... etc... The Xbox360 takes all those categories. But it means nothing if the system dies early and often) That's why I went with the PS3. I will also say that I'm a sucker for eye candy and beautiful graphics so I chose not to go for the Wii.

First and foremost I always look at which system has the most power, thats why I got me a Nintendo Wii...I also look for the system that took the biggest jump graphics wise...again, thats why I got the Wii...but when I want something with a more Retro feel to it...I get a PS3/360.

Well so far i am still on my first xbox 360, and i got it within 2 weeks after launch. So this is one of the earlier models. The one thing most important when buying a game console isnt necessarily stability, its the games for the system themselves. Stuff like graphics, sound, and stability should also be taken into consideration, but the games will make the most difference. I have a wii and 360 because of the games they are both offering. I plan on buying a PS3 when the systems better games come out, but right now PS3 would be a big waste of $600 for me.

There are at least 12 games for the PS3 coming out by the end of May that have been announced that I will be getting once I pick up a PS3, and there are a lot of good games coming out for it this year that havent had release dates announced.

Games are certainly important. If the PS3 had been released at the same time as the Xbox360 and this is still all they had in the game library, there's no doubt I'd be Ebaying my console right now. But I'm sure that in the end, the game libraries of both systems with be comparable. (Notice I said comparable. The Xbox360 one might be better but there won't be the HUGE discrepancy in both quality and quantity that exists right now) So, in the end, it came down to what console ran more smoothly (this is a personal opinion. There are gamers out there who have had nothing but flawless systems ever. In which case, they'll care more about which games are available. Having suffered through malfunctioning hardware in the previous generation (original Xbox), I know how frustrating it is to have the games you want to play but be unable to play them. And it's why I value stability a bit higher than other shoppers would)

Most people? Come on now, do you even know what the word "most" means? I don't even own an X360, and I know that that's total crap.

Generally when I buy a machine used to play videogames, I look for the one that will play the videogames I like. Graphics are nice and all but I haven't found one PS3 title that I'm interested in.

:| 360 sold 10 million because it was the only next gen console out for one whole year, plus Microsoft is only planning to ship 2 million consoles by June, thats 4 months!

I keep hearing cows using this 360 unreliable idea as a way 2 bash it but here in the Uk i dnt kno of any1 who's had a 360 die on them, myself and 7 of my m8s have 360's that are all over 6 months old and none of us nor other peeps i kno who have 360's have eva had any over heating disc scratching or ring of death probs so the number of peeps whos 360's malfunction must be quite low.

Did you think about the fact that the PS2 was the least reliable system last gen
