And here we go.
5. Super Castlevania IV - A great hit in the early SNES days, not only showed the power of the SNES at that time (Stage 4 anyone?), it was incredibly fun game to play with many moments of wow.
4. Frogger - an arcade classic, what can I say?
3. Suikoden II - the best RPG on the first Playstation. Yes, its true. This game is a masterpiece. Excellent story that is unique for a JRPG, with choice and consquence at key moments of the story. A story about friendship, children in warfare, political divisions, and man's sometimesbestial nature, this story is excellently directed and memorable, that avoids many of the cliches that plague JRPG storytelling. The gameplay, while simple, is fun and doesn't force repititive grinding. There is also 108 characters to recruit, like any Suikoden game. And the bad guy...what a bad guy he is.
2. Metal Gear Solid - Still the best MGS game, although the third game was also great. This game was highly unique when it came out, with unique stealth gameplay.good storytelling and great boss fights. Many memorable moments, alternate outcomes, and Psycho Mantis. None of the successors, including the highly overrated MGS4, have come near the level of greatness of the first.
1. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - May very well be the best game on the Playstation, this took a classic series and forced a excellent new direction to it. This game took what made Super Metroid great, stuck it in Dracula's Castle, and added gameplay elements typical for most RPGs. Stunning boss fights, excellent soundtrack, well designed areas and a secret second half of the game. If you have not played it, do so, its easy to get on Xbox Live.
