The Ultimate Exclusive Battle. Metacritic 360 vs PS3 85+.

At the last E3 a MS exec quoted Metacritic using games with a rating of 85 and up, called it "the watermark for industry leading games", imo that's a pretty damn good way to look at things so I'll be doing the same thing. Couple of things to keep in mind, the PS3 released one full year later(One Year and a half World Wide), I'm not counting arcade titles start your own thread if you like, and I've left out controversial "exclusives" like MLB 09, Ninja Gaiden Sigma etc.

These are the best fully retail games available exclusively for these 2 platforms, the main reasons to own them, no sketchiness, no tricks, no lies. (I might have missed something, will edit if that's the case don't freak out)

Metacritic? Really? We are on Gamespot and any "Ultimate Exclusive Battle" should use GS scores.

I can give you teh company line, on GS we use GS scores. :P

However, it's your thread, so if you are clear about the point you are making, you can do it how you want. Just create your own rules within this thread, and stick to it! :)

So, in this particular thread, no PSN or XBLA games? I can deal with that.

I will have to look over your work...What about PC/360 multiplats like the ME and L4D series?

It's untrue that those exclusives are the main reason to own one of those consoles.

IRL a gamer deciding between the 360 and PS3 would add...

Mass Effect - 91

Mass Effect 2 - 98

Gears of War - 94

Left 4 Dead - 89

Left 4 Dead 2 - 89

Mass Effect and Gears were also 360 exclusives for months before they were ported to PC.

IRL Mass Effect 2 is reason enough to choose a 360 over a PS3.

It's great when the total essence of a game has to be boiled down to a number so that people can see some weird value in it..

I don't have a problem with REVIEWS, I have a problem with reviews with numerical scores. We have tons of idiots on the internet crying about 9.3 reviews as if some terrible miscarriage of justice has occured because a game they liked scored .02 lower than a game that they didn't like.

I take that the ps3 has more exclusive killer-apps. And the 360's list makesme feel like I'm looking at an original XBOX for the most part. Where's the plethora of new IPs? This is likely the biggest reason that momentum has shifted over to the ps3. The 360 list just doesn't look all that exciting.

If it's PS3 vs 360, Mass Effect, L4D, L4D2, GeoW, EoLC (rated separately as BoGT and TL&D)and MLB09 should be there.

I take that the ps3 has more exclusive killer-apps. But you forgot DOA 4 , PGR 3 , PGR4.

Killer apps to me are games that are extremely well known, and also very good(for the most part)

EX: Halo, GEOW, GT5, MGS4. While KZ2, FM3, R1/2, UC1/2, etc are not killer apps.

Since TC is using metacritic, its important to mension that 360 has 133 A+ games over PS3 there. Go check :P
