The Unofficial: Halo 3 is over rated thread.

Halo 3 is a good game, don't get me wrong, but it is not the be all end all game it is tauted to be. It is the same old, and besides the graphix not any better than the first two. The story was lame with an inconclusive ending that left me limp. Halo has been on a downward spiral since the first one. It is a good thing they quit with #3 while they were still ahead because I bet halo 4 really would have suct.

Halo 3 brought absolutly nothing new to the table, just regurgitated the same game we have been playing since 2001. If good old Gerstman would have reviewed it he would have gave it the proper slamming it deserved like TP.

I played through it twice and now never want to touch it again. Should have gotten Guitar Hero 3 instead. What a waste of $60.

Oh yes it does.. making the game seem like the best thing ever and when you actually get it it's just normal... yea overhype does = overrated if the game is as average as halo

Halo has an amazing story for what it is. It is deep and has in interesting universe.

Halo 3 is ended with a cliffhanger. (legendary credits)

Bungie will NOT cut off Halo. Do you think they're stupid or something? Kids...

Halo's gameplay has had the same basic concept. However, the feel of the game and little additions between the transitions of each game is totally different. Basically, Halo 3 is an overhaul from Halo 2. The gameplay is much more slow paced. The matchmaking system is amazing.

What people don't seem to understand is that this is HALO. They aren't going to make a whole different game for a sequel. But they do a very good job of changing up the mechanics. It definitely doesn't feel like a rehash.

And I'm a fanboy for defending an amazing game to YOU? lol, toots.

My underlying argument is that people ARE NOT saying that Halo is THE BEST GAME ever made. The backbone of your argument does not exist.

i still miss the times when me and my buddies would system link 4 xboxes together and order us a pizza while plyaing halo combat evolved all night.halfnaked

The hype is probably the biggest problem with Halo 3. I liked the game and would say it does belong in the 9.0 to 9.5 range (although both Forge and Theater are incredibly weak and poorly implemented when compared to Timesplitters or a PC game). But I though Halo 3 was a great step up from Halo 2 even if it felt very similar at the core.

Are you serious right now, first of Halo came out last year. Not only that the game has sold 8 million copies. So I dont think there is much to say about this.

It's a very well made game, but to me it's just got too much childish user friendly apeal. It's story is the only bit I wanted to play. My biggest beef with the game is massive melee hitboxes and effective melee radius'. To me it felt like it was designed so people with controllers could truly master the intense close range combat, but then bastardised it with the melee ability, added sticky aim to help again, and it's just not worth playing online.

Cod4 plays better than I imagined however.
