The wait is over!

Ok, so the PS3 has had a "just wait" mark on it for some time now. Well that wait is over and here are the reasons.

1.MGS4! First AAAA this gen and by many it's being called out as the best game ever made. It's hard to argue once you play the game.

2. PSN is starting to get really good. So we have In-game XM, lag-free online play and best of all, it's free!

3. Multiplats are getting much better.We've seen very few inferior ports to PS3 in 2008.

4. Computer-like features. I can acces the webb and my computer and watch movies on my PS3 wich I have stored on my PC.

5. More Blu-ray movies now that HD-DVD is dead.

6. Uncharted,R&C,HS,Resistance,Motorstorm are all very fun games!

yes, I know, PS3 is still not living up to it's full potential. I'm not ignorant and I can see it. But it's still a great console. PS3 owners doesn't "wait" anymore, now we play. And to all PS3 haters, try the console before bashing it. Trust me, it's better than you thought. Spinoraptor, I never said that scores were useless. I just said that the games in "6" are fun games. And yes considering the fact that PSN is free, it is better than Live. yet again, we go by exclusives here and MGS4 is the first AAAAE.

i remember these threads appearing this time last year boasting about how 'the wait is almost over' and '2007 is the year of the ps3!'. well, it's now mid 2008 and the only notable release on the ps3 is metal gear solid 4. all the other big releases (killzone 2, final fantasy 13, gran turismo 5, that little big planet thing etc) are yet to have a solid release date and i'm guessing still aren't going to be here by this time next year. but watch out! the wait is nearly over! 2011 is the year of the ps3!!

1. That doesn't make GS opinion the only one that matters. The gamerankings score shows that a lot of people doesn't consider MGS 4 a 10-game. So that proves that is not "the Messiah in gaming" that you say.

2. MGS 4 it's not considered the best game ever.

3. Using gamerankings actually helps the PS3, because games like Uncharted, R&C and Heavenly sword are higher rtanked there. Using GS you are only left with MGS 4, which, in the end of the day, is just one game.

Couldn't agree more with that statement. I thought GTA4 was trash and deserved none of those "perfect" scores. MGS4 deserved every single one of them, it was such an amazing, incredible experience. Games like MGS4 is the reason I love games in the first place

I would have to agree, 2008 was not the year of the ps3 it was the year of MGS4. That is just not enough, sony needs more than 1 game. MS has it right this gen, securing exclusives is the way to go.

They are both good but personally I enjoyed RC more. The gameplay was just more fun for me.

GTA4 was overrated. The game got bored after 2-3 missions. To be honest I traded GTA4 for the LE MGS4. :D
