The Wii is like McDonalds

I saw a signature on this board that said:

"Saying the Wii won the console war is like saying McDonalds won the culinary war".

I thought this summed up the Wii very well. I was in Game the other day and I was looking at the VAST wall dedicated to the Wii. Seriously, the level of tat on display was amazing. I can understand the Wii as a second console, but if you chose it as your main console this generation... have a tissue.

Xbox360 is Burger King and

PS3 is Wendy's

Wii-Popular system that sales like crazy Mcdonald's-Popular fast food restaurant that owns the competition in sales Wii-To many bad games Mcdonald's-To much bad food Wii-Has very little good games compared to the massive amount of bad games Mcdonald's-Has a huge bad menu of food compared to the little bit of good food. I think the Wii, like McDonalds, can be enjoyed as PART of a balanced diet.

But if you have it as your 1 and only console... you are missing out on so much. In like the next month or so the 360 and ps3 people are getting:

DeadSpace, Resistance 2, Gears 2, Farcry 2, Fallout 3, LittleBigPlanet, Motorstorm 2, Fable 2. The list just goes on and on...

and the Wii??

McDonalds are so overrated. Give 'em 5 mins of the frier and they taste like crap.

But what if your not interested in the games you listed. Not saying they are bad games they just dont appeal to me. Only 2 of those games I do want to play, Farcry 2 which ill get for my PC and LBP but its not enough to make me want a PS3. Theres more games I want to play coming to both Wii/DS. So am not really missing out on much really.

You can guess, and you can also be very wrong. PS2 was a 4 star restauraunt last gen with a take-out service on the side for shovelware and movie tie-ins. It still puts out great exclusives to this day like Yakuza and Persona.

It's so crazy how the vast majority of people I talk to about the Wii usually all come to the same conclusion... it's awesome for the first month or two, then it just "collects dust".

That's not to say the game doesnt have it's share of good games... just that they are too far and few between and the replay value on most of them are "meh".

THe PS2 had tons of high quality games. The Wii has very few and no third party support.

Yeah I would have to agree. Wii is more of a secondary console. If you already have a Ps3 or 360 the Wii is probably the best choice but if you only have the money for one console Wii is not the console you want to get..rusty_armor1

Nope sorry, the PS2 had an amazing library of games unlike the Wii.
