the rate at which the ps3's are being sold is not fast enough but doing very well right now. i wonder if the wii's dominance is only temporary until the big games of ps3 come out.
P.S = this is ur opinion no fanboy here.

I think that the PS3 still has some of it's best franchises in queue, and that the system was counted out prematurely. I don't think the Wii will continue it's lead simply b/c I don't think it really has the support of the bigger franchises (yet?) other than Nintendo's own.-RPGamer-
Agreed bout the PS3, but we know what PS3 has in stake for the rest of the year (MGS4, SOCOM, GT5) we don't know what the Wii has yet and supposely there's a big announcement at E3 this year for what the rest of the year has in stock.

The reason that people assume the Wii doesn't have anything in the near future... is because Nintendo doesn't make it a habit to annouce games that won't be released for 3 years...
How many years of talk about Killzone 2 and MGS4 and FFXIII do we need? Why not just save the annoucment to a year before the game is released.....
Wii and DS dominate their own markets.
PS3 and 360 are in different markets.

I can say with 100% certainty as a junior economatrician. That the PS3 and Xbox360 are in the same market as the Wii.

okay they are, but what i meant is they cater to mostly different types of people.

So tell me when Nintendo started announcing games for other developers? I already took into account in my last statement that the system will have big franchises from Nintendo own dev teams (great content I might add).
Some companies like to generate hype. Hence the early announcements, so do not. Regardless that doesn't change what I stated earlier.

The 360 and PS3 aren't home consoles? You can't say the PS3 and 360 are in different markets just because they're losing in sales and number of AAAEs.
that's not what I meant sheesh.
Nintindo just can't make em fast enough so maybe its possible at some point it will stop selling cause ppl are tired of waitingfootfoe2
Actually, Nintendo is making around 1.8 million Wii a month now and they STILL couldn't keep up with demand. I don't think it will die down soon....If it ever did, all Nintendo needs is a bunch of new colored Wii and the feeding frenzy will begin again.
so far, nintendo has done well, the wii is popular right now, but still some of the big third party franchises are still with sony, games like metal gear solid, the tekken and ridge racer series, final fantasy from square enix, etc. if nintendo were to dominate, they would have these franchises as well. Only monster hunter3 and fatal frame have made the exclusive jump to nintendo. if sony were to lose these big name franchises, they would lose the game war period.

It can't until it outsells the Wii each month. The true question is still and has been for the last year when will the Wii slow down. Then the next question is even if it did how ahead will it be at that time. Here are some numbers to think about
Wii comparisons: After 68 weeks, Wii is where GBA was at 69.4 weeks (July 16, 2002), where DS was at 57.7 weeks (January 6, 2006), where PS2 was at 92.1 weeks (December 2, 2001), and where PSP was at 134.5 weeks (July 4, 2007).
Everyday the gap between Wii and PS3 is widening. Even if the PS3 sells a bit better Wii still outsell it everday. B0urn3
PS3 vs Wii: Weekly shares of 17.1 / 82.9, bringing total shares to 26.0 / 74.0. If Wii stopped selling and PS3 continued at this week's rate, it would catch up in 283.2 weeks (August 27, 2013).

I do think 360 and ps3 are in the same market. Most people are either going to buy a ps3 or a 360, they wont buy both unless they want both systems games.

it makes sense though, once the ps3 cuts its prices down it's gonna be hard for the wii to dominate_EXCON_
Except that if the wii were to stop selling today, and if the PS3 were to maintain it's sales rate, it would take the PS3 5 years to meet the wii's curret consoles sold.

Ok...I guess I'll have to step in here for a minute.............Alright.................are we all listening?.................................Good.....................Wii, DS, PSP,PS2, 360, and PS3 are ALL in the same market. They all want the SAME thing.............YOUR MONEY........Don't you fool yourself for one minute and think Sony and MS don't wish they could pull the numbers in that Nintendo is pulling right now with the Wii and DS. A good number of the poeple who are forking out for PS3's and 360 are the very same ones forking out for Wiis and 360s.
So I guess your gonna tell me that movie theatres and game systems are'nt geared towards the same market too huh?
