"Ominous" more like it. Like a gigantic casual behemoth standing over the destiny of all consoles.

a true underdog story. what will this place be like if the wii does manage to tie or even pass the 360? CaseyWegner
After this years round of games for the 360 I don't think it will happen, but thats just what I think.

I really don't think it'll change much. The Wii appeals to a totally different crowd than the PS3 or 360. Numbers don't mean a whole lot to me if the games themselves don't appeal to me, and that's mostly why I don't care for the Wii. It'll mean infinitely more to the N fans than it will to the Ms/Sony fans. Much like sales figures.

Well the sheep would come back out of hiding after the E3 disaster and claim ownage and get very arrogant. Cows and lemmings would get defensive and claim they have the best 3rd part support and the best online/prettier games.

Nintendo was never really an underdog in any generation. It was always a huge gaming powerhouse The Wii's progress was just as forseen. Sony's was a bit different, since it got off on the wrong foot. And Microsoft continued to improve on itself and establish itself as a serious gaming company.
It's not awe inspiring at all to me. Read the bible. I'm totally awe-inspiring in that.

The problem is that the Wii's AAAE's aren't really Xbox 360 level. It's like saying that a system with 10 AAAEs that are all sports games is equal to a system with 10 AAAEs that are like Halo 3, Forza, Gears of War 2, etc. etc.AHUGECAT

when reggie said animal crossing was enough for hardcore gamers for the rest of the yeari lost all faith/hope for nintendo and wii. they've completey commited to casuals
btw having a rule or even counting AAe's or AAAe's is just stupid you play the game not the score and imo the 360/PS3 has alot better games than the wii

But if I don;t want to play a particular AAA game, why would I care? I couldn't care less about Halo 3 or No More Heroes. I played them both and was bored within an hour. People can argue over numbers all they want, but if a game doesn't make me want to play it, I don't care how high it scores.

despite the 360's one year head start and the wii's often bashed "lack of power", it is only three AAEs away from being tied with the 360 for high scoring exclusives. it's already matched it for AAAEs. like it or not, it's an impressive feat. CaseyWegner
I have a feeling even if the Wii surpasses the 360 in quality AA/AAA exclusives people will still make useless noises.
You know its alright if people say they dont like the games on the Wii because its not their cup of tea... i understand people have different tastes in games but what really annoys me in this board is that people actually believe that the Wii has no good game. If Super Mario Galaxy the highest rated game so far this gen cant change peoples mind about the Wii then no game can

They only get higher scores because they are on the Wii. No More Heroes for example was supposed to be for the Xbox 360, but got put on the Wii, thus lowering the standards. For the Wii standards are different, an AAA game on the Wii is an AA on the 360/PS3. This is not true all the time, obviously. The Wii has many great games, but even if it surpasses the Xbox 360 in AAAE's the Xbox 360 still has the superior AAAE's.

BigJerm1
Well I'm pretty sure the others could say the same thing about the games you would pick to play. The scores from Gamespot is a way to set in stone the games to use in the determining of the "best" console.

YES of course NMH on the 360 would have scored lower. It wouldn't have had any motion sensing combat! Plus, how do you know it wouldn't have scored the same on the 360 if instead of the wii's advantage in motion sensing they used the 360's advantage in graphics?[QUOTE="CaseyWegner"][QUOTE="AHUGECAT"]The problem is that the Wii's AAAE's aren't really Xbox 360 level. I'm sure they could say that. In fact, I hope that's the case. People in these forums are so blinded by brand loyalty, they'll play trash because it's hyped, and avoid greatness because it's on the "wrong" system. I feel for anyone who lets GS or sales numbers exclusively make their decisions for them.

hmm too bad most people i see posting on this forum say they baught a wii played it for a week then got sick of it and now its a dust collecter. just like my wii. great system for getting wasted and playing but other then that it truely is a gimmick console. and one of the biggest wastes of money in my gameing history.
lol though i still recommend people play SMG. imo the only title worth playing

Because on the 360 the standards will be different - with so many great games you expect more than the Xbox 360. Now No More Heroes is a great game, and AAA quality for the Wii because the Wii lacks games like it. On the Xbox 360 though it'd score more like Dead Rising, AA due to different standards.
It's not all about stats and numbers. Patriots went 16-0 and the Giants were 10-6 but numbers aren't the whole story you have to look at the context. With the Wii's sales (already outsold the 360 like nothing) it should get the games rolling in like the PlayStation 1/2 did, and even Nintendo's own NES and SNES but it hasn't. The Wii has a great few games but could and should be doing better.

I could elaborate on "dead horse" points like worst graphics, smallest library of TOTAL AA-AAA games, not getting the great multiplat games but what would be the point?
the wii might techically be 3 AAE's away from tieing the 360 but then look at what those include. trash like wario-ware, marble madness, boom box. Joke games that dont deserve to be in the same conversation as most games.
But the numbers are bonafide and i cant change it, so instead, i just summerized the truth behind the numbers. "crap console" works well.
Why compare two vastly different consoles when it comes to exclusivity? Why not include the multiplatform games the Wii will never see?and here we go. what's wrong with the wii's games?

Every gaming platform is different, especially in terms of its technical features. However, we believe high-quality gaming experiences are possible on all the gaming platforms that we cover. So we review games against the standards of their respective platforms by implicitly comparing them to other games on that same platform and, to a lesser extent, to other games in that genre. As a result, our ratings of games on different platforms are not intended to be directly compared (the SW issue) to one another. However, relative comparisons do apply, so a game that scores poorly is a poor game by any standards, while a game that scores extremely high is an outstanding game by any standards.Gamespot

Stevo_the_gamer
exclusives are what differentiate the consoles. if there's a multiplat that you want, there are options. if you want an exclusive, there's only one system that has it.
