Do anyone else get fatal error while running the Witcher with a NVDIA 8800 family card?

Is it because the NVIDIA card are a mess in DX9.0c?

Anyone else getting blue pages even with the latest drivers and patches?

nope, and this should be in PCgames Discussion, now the only thing you get is Console fanboys coming in, bashing PC gaming

make a topic in PCdisucssion, with a warnings.log and I might be able to help you

I have an 8600m GT and the Witcher works fine for me but I did have to do a couple of things. Make sure you have the latest version of Directx 9c, because I think the Witcher requires the August or newer version of Directx 9c. If you are running Vista, there is a hotfix you need to install that fixes some memory leak issues.

I'm not getting that but the game crashes every single time I end the game. I bought this game because a few people were raving about it, but seriously, the game is a mess. The voice acting is TERRIBLE and the load times are annoying. The game feels really unfinished. I'm trying to give it a chance but it's feeling like a lot of work.

Do you have the latest patch? It helped load times a bit.

I was running the game on Vista before. I switched on XP after some troublesome issues.

My BFG 8800 GTX OC seems to go crazy. Last time I buy a BFG product.

It easily the RPG of the year. The new patches improve a lot of things like the loading times, they are of 3 seconds now, and the voice acting isn't bad IMO, it's actually pretty good in comparaison of Bioware games.

I'm sure it's not the devs fault, but BFG who did a mess with their cards.

Since I talked about Bioware, every of their releases got bad engines and a lot of bugs. It's not normal that they can't render a game at 30FPS. Seriously, CDprojeck know more how to code than bioware.

It works perfectly with my 8800 GTS 640.

I was pleasantly surprised with the stability too. I haven't had any problems to speak of, and it Alt+Tabs out like a charm. I hope you have better luck, because The Witcher is a fantastic game.

... no... CD Projeckt is working with the Aurora engine... That engine isn't made for current tech. It CANNOT do multicore. No matter how hard you try to get it working, it ISNT possible. The load times are ALSO the Aurora engine's fault. The fact that the game even looks as good as it does is a miracle on that engine... The voice acting is decent. Lip syncing is impossible on the Aurora engine as well... However, that is all CD Projeckt had access to because they owned rights to it because they did the Polish localization for Neverwinter Nights 2.

It's abysmal. Seriously, it's painful to listen to some of the characters.I'm just not feeling it. The dialog itself isn't all that bad, but the delivery is really wooden. Especially Triss...I'm really trying to get into it, but it's not doing it for me at all so far.
