The Witcher is an action RPG incorporating a simple-yet-interesting game system, along with a complex plot and attractive 3D graphics. Already on the PC for over a year, with an enhanced edition released a few months ago, the console version will features a new engine/combat system, new animations/models/vegetation, dynamic lighting/shadows, achievements/trophies, sixaxxis support, new and more aggressive enemy behavior, full character control with optimized console controls.

Hermits must be angry at losing there best game of last year to console gamers, now that the console version will be the definitive version...that's gotta hurt.

This type of game will go right over the head of most console gamers. They wouldn't know a good game (or a bad game for that matter) if they spent 20+ hours a week playing it.GodLovesDead

Why does this surprise anyone? For all the PC gamers bragging about games like this and WoW, they fail to realize that games like WoW are making the PC gaming market so hostile as to utterly kill smaller scale games like this.Shafftehr

If they had just released it on consoles with the non-existant marketing and absolute zero hype like they released on the PC then they would have been lucky to sell 100K copies.... Specifically since it was from a new dev(only previous experience was localization for BioWare games).

Yes!  The Witcher and Mass Effect were the two RPG's last year I cared about, but I only have a laptop... This news makes me happy, and I wouldn't call it abandoned, seems a bit melodramatic.

Curious to see how this will sell on consoles.

Just because they're broadening their horizons doesn't mean they've totally abandoned pc gamers....

If they end up acting like Cliffy B then at that point, they would have abandoned pc gaming, but I personally don't see these guys acting anything like that....they sound like a very grateful bunch.

Yay!  That's amazing news!  I've been wanting to play this game before it was released on PC, but I don't have a gaming PC. As such, great to hear!

Thanks to the devs for giving us console gamers the opportunity to play this gem. 

I have been waiting for this to become official ever since the rumors began flying. As this is the main game on PC that I have been wanting to come to consoles. Needless to say, this is the best news I have heard in some time. Cannot wait.ironcreed

I hope so, man. As ever since it released on PC, I have thought it was the best looking RPG out based on what I have read and seen. Just one of those games that I know I would absolutely love to death.

my PC is crap..so this is good news for me.

i also cant wait for the console version of sacred 2 to come to consoles..i'm not expecting it to do great..i just want a decent diablo clone.

dont kid yourself...The Witcher on consoles is still gonna be a niche title..with modest sales...but who cares about that?i'd be more worried about the devs gimping the port by dumbing  down and censoring it.

:lol: The pathetic jagfest resolution that is 720P in a mostly brighter game like The Witcher off the bat make that impossible :lol: 

And I mean have you console gamers forgot about games like Oblivion and Fallout which look far better on PC? :lol: how can you really expect your hobo PC's will come over The Witcher enhanced editions solid graphics?

This is nothing more then the devs just trying to get console gamers excited for the game. I'd bet the game is actually substantially uglier then the PC version.

It may actually be a console version... They are doing a whole lot of misdirection with it....
