Not in terms of game library, which it does pretty good (needs more diversity though), but in terms of hardware:

- Disc scratching (barely move it and looks like your Xbox 360 turned into Freddy Krueger)
- RROD (nuff said)
- DVD (limits the amount of content, can be scratched)
- HDMI revisions
- No motion control
- Pay to play online
- Microsoft Points
- Hard drive not standard
- Can't use keyboards/mouse controls for games, have to buy Microsoft peripherals
- Like the super expensive WiFi and Hard Drives
- LOUD, like a jet

Only the PS2 rivals it in the "worst console ever" category.

it's a shame because the original xbox was great by comparison in terms of hardware

but forget about the terrible problems that have plagued my own 360, i'm not too crazy about the library either

1. lol at that. i do agree. 2. the newer models are working great. 3. i don't get this one. if ur saying bluray is better or something, i don't think it is needed right now. 4. HDMI i don't care about it. i do play at 720p. 5. i would rather play with a controler then like the wii or ps3. 6. it isn't expensive at all. 7. ps3 and wii both have a point system to buy something online. but some sytem is just money with points but equal to how ever it cost. 8. only for the arcade it isn't standard. all other models have a hard drive. 9. play on PC if u want to use a mouse and keyboard. they also can use a 360 controller. 10. i do agree it is expensive but u can get cheaper from websites. 11. newer models are quiet, install a game onto the hard drive it will be quiet.

Hahahaha, laughable

I never EVER had problem with any of the above, and the noise is gone with the installs

As for needing more diversity, why is that ? It has the most and best WRPGs, JRPG's, adventures, strategy, action, platforming, shooting etc games, its diversity is through the roof actually

It is the best by miles console actually and the first ever to bridge the console and PC worlds, making any other platform looking like an afterthough

1. It's hardly a big deal just turn it off before you move it.

2. Ok that is a big issue.

3. Isn't MGS4 the only game too big for it?.

4. It has HDMI

5. Motion contol is a huge gimmick

6. It's worth it.

7. What about Wii points and Playstation wallet

8. Well if you want a hard drive buy the model with one.

9. I use my keyboard fine and it's not MS

10. Hardly anyone uses wifi

11. Yea, it is loud but now you can install games.

Your argument sucks.

I wouldn't call it the worst, but it does have some problems, which is keeping me from buying one. My friend went through 4 of them which all got RROD, and I know other people who had problems too, but you have to admit it does have some great games on it, and even though you have to play for online, $50/year doesn't seem like much for the great service.

AHUGECAT

1. Why the hell would you even move a console while there is a disc spinning in it?
2. While the problem is still there, it isn't as bad as it used to be.
3. So far, everything on DVD is still fine with me. It's called compression.
4. Do we all need HDMI to play? No.
5. Motion control? Yeah, like Sony pulled that one off with leaps and bounds too.
6. If you can't get $50 in a year then you really need to sort out some things.
7. While the point system is stupid, it still gets the job done.
8. Had a 360 over 2 years and my 20GB still has space.
9. Uh, consoles use CONTROLLERS.
10. Are they expensive? Yes. However, only the HDD is worth it if you really need to upgrade. If you buy the wifi, you need help.
11. Mine's running right now and it's no where near a "jet".

No argument from me, it's a horrible piece of hardware but luckily for Microsoft, they have a game library that keeps people from ditching the 360 for the competition consoles. There are a few problems with your argument though:

- Disc scratching (barely move it and looks like your Xbox 360 turned into Freddy Krueger)

Agreed, needs to be sturdier I suppose

- RROD (nuff said)

Indeed

- DVD (limits the amount of content, can be scratched)

Ok, but I dont know many people who watch movies as much as they game on a gaming console

- HDMI revisions

Ok.

- No motion control

Does it need motion control? No, this is not a loss, but only a small gain if they choose to implement it

- Pay to play online

$4 a month is not that bad at all. If you can afford $40-$80 for games and a $400 console, then no complaints

- Microsoft Points

how does this impact the console? It's not hard to translate the Points to real currency

- Hard drive not standard

What do you mean?

- Can't use keyboards/mouse controls for games, have to buy Microsoft peripherals

Fair enough but how many games use those extra accessories?

- Like the super expensive WiFi and Hard Drives

Not everyone needs or uses WiFi

- LOUD, like a jet

I guess, but just turn the volume up, stop over-exaggerating

No motion control...who wants that, microsoft points are no different then the other point systems, we buy a console for controller not KBM, loud? Not with installs, you don't need a wifi or harddrive to play.

Not in terms of game library, which it does pretty good (needs more diversity though), but in terms of hardware:

- Disc scratching (barely move it and looks like your Xbox 360 turned into Freddy Krueger)

- HDMI revisions
- No motion control
- Pay to play online

- Like the super expensive WiFi and Hard Drives
- LOUD, like a jet

Only the PS2 rivals it in the "worst console ever" category.

AHUGECAT

1.) Scratching - I thought that was a resolved issue that was mostly limited to people moving their 360 while it was on?

2.) RROD - nuff said.

3.) DVD - very weak argument there.

4.) HDMI - what?

5.) Motion Control - If the PS3 didn't have motion control, would anyone really care? no.

6.) Pay 2 Play - Live should be free. But it has been this way since the Xbox.

7.) MS Points - what's wrong with points?

8.) HDD - nuff said.

9.) KB&M - who cares? It's a console, not a PC. how many consoles and console generations have made use of KB&M?

10.) WiFi & HDD - they are too expensive. But that's what happens when you make a proprietary solution. Ask Apple.

11.) Volume - NXE makes this a dead point. My 360 is now quieter than my Wii and PS3.

And? having a good price, a outstanding game library and top notch service is what is keeping it in front of the PS3. So all arguments are null.

It's a great console but the hardware itself is horrible. For the second time in a week, I've just had a message suddenly come up that said- "The disc is unreadable. Try wiping it with a cloth, blah blah blah". Even though I had been playing it for a few hours. So I had to go back to the Dashboard and then go back into the game. ****ing ridiculous :I

If you actually think the 360 lacks diversity, what does that say about the PS3 library? It is a FACT that 360 has the most diversity this generation.

* WRPGs and JRPGs
* Racers
* Shooters
* Strategy
* Action adventure in all demographics (DMC4, NG2, GTA4, Dead Rising, Naruto, Simpsons, Lego series)
* Sports
* Fighters
* Flight (AC 6, Blaing Angels 2)
* Platformer

What every you're looking for, 360's got it and in multitudes of any given genre (Platformer only being the lower title count). Hell even XBLA beats out PSN in game selection, from cIassic retro games, to retro remakes, to originals.

It doesn't have racers like WipeOut, Twisted Metal or MotorStorm. Doesn't have epic action adventure like Zelda, Shadow of the Colossus or God of War. No platformers (absolutely none besides Crash and Spyro), and that's pretty much it really. Microsoft may try and get more platformers though.

For the people that say WiFi is useless, or the hard drive space is enough or the Xbox 360 isn't loud, the reason I made this thread was because I am experiencing these problems now. The 360 sounds like a chainsaw (literally - just as loud), and I am running out of hard drive space (60GB 360) and I also do not have Xbox Live because I cannot get it plugged in, because my TV is in a different room than my PC.

I have a 25ft ethernet cable but I don't want to buy another one. I guess I am just going to have to move my TV in my room but I do not want too. Dang Microsoft, why $99 for WiFi? Even $49 would be more reasonable.

And yeah I know why it's loud, it's still annoying and scares me.

Not having specific titles is NOT THE SAME as lacking in a genre. It does still have plenty of games in your example categories;

Racing: PGR 4, GRID, Forza 2, Burnout Revenge, Burnout Paradise, NFS Pro Street and Undercover, Pure (oh and Twisted Metal is not a raciing game)

Action Adventure: DMC4, Ninja Gaiden 2, Ninja Blade (confirmed), PoP, TR Underworld, Dead Rising, RE 5, Splinter Cell Conviction, Assassin's Creed, Mirrir's Edge

And yeah, I agreed that it could do with more platformers. But still, 8 out of 9 categories is substantial enough.

I have owned nearly every game console since the Sega Master System, and In my experience the Xbox 360 is a faulty pile of crap. I have never had a console with more hardware problems, expensive add-ons and its skanky reputation preceeds it for sure. Mine is in the MS Repair Center as I type this. AT this point, the 360 is the oldest piece of hardware and my other console makes it look like a Chevy Aveo. Microsoft's shady business practices should have put them out of the gaming market by now, they must have "fanboy mindcontrol" or something. lol

AHUGECAT

Disc scratching is a problem but then again it is a problem for various types of DVD/CD players which is why they've either changed the hardware or recall the product.

RROD is a problem but it's under warranty for 3 years from the point you purchase your non used console and the newer models run cooler since they are 45nm.

It is loud which makes me wonder why they didn't use 2 120mm fans going at 1000 or 1200 RPM as opposed to what they have in it now IT would be quiter and cooler (With the addon heatsinks of course) but perhaps there wasn't enough room in the case.

As for the rest they are completely outlandish and are just added on to the argument except for the hardrives being overly priced but again I don't see what the price of the hardware has to do with it's reliability or how 'good' it is. Wii/PS2/Xbox never had motion controls. PC (BEtter than all of the above) and PS2 and Xbox never had motion controls. What does pay to play online have to do with the hardware? A 360 controller, in my opinion, is easier to use than a keyboard/mouse combo. But that is personal preference.

If you actually think the 360 lacks diversity, what does that say about the PS3 library? It is a FACT that 360 has the most diversity this generation.

* WRPGs and JRPGs
* Racers
* Shooters
* Strategy
* Action adventure in all demographics (DMC4, NG2, GTA4, Dead Rising, Naruto, Simpsons, Lego series)
* Sports
* Fighters
* Flight (AC 6, Blaing Angels 2)
* Platformer

What every you're looking for, 360's got it and in multitudes of any given genre (Platformer only being the lower title count). Hell even XBLA beats out PSN in game selection, from cIassic retro games, to retro remakes, to originals.

most of those games are multiplatform

360 = 90% shooter games (yawn)

For the people that say WiFi is useless, or the hard drive space is enough or the Xbox 360 isn't loud, the reason I made this thread was because I am experiencing these problems now. The 360 sounds like a chainsaw (literally - just as loud), and I am running out of hard drive space (60GB 360) and I also do not have Xbox Live because I cannot get it plugged in, because my TV is in a different room than my PC.AHUGECAT
Then I suggest you get an ethernet cord. A 50 foot ethernet cord is cheaper than the WiFi adapter.

In terms of hardware, I'll agree with you.

But, despite all of the hardware problems it has, it's still my favorite console this generation.

The games which are multiplatform doesn't change the fact that they are on the 360 and constitute a part of it's library. So you saying "360 = 90% shooter games" just shows you have no clue what you're talking about. I presented the actual facts that support 360 having the most diverse libarary of this gen. It's indisputable! Oh and what are th most anticipated games on PS3? Resistance 2 and Killzone 2? Oh yeah, don't go pointing the finger at 360 for being a shooter console :|

So... let me get this straight... games being multiplatform completely negates them from being on the console.

Lemming #1 "Oh well little Johnny there has Final Fantasy XIII and Halo 3 and DMC 4"

Cow #1 "Well most of those games are multiplatform so basically all he has is shooters and I don't like shooters so the 360 has no games and no diversity."

It's like 2006 all over again.

I guess it's nice to see some consistency from the fanboys though...
