Ok, my brother and I are argueing about the whole GPS thing in AC and how I liked the idea of not having one in Lair (cuz..well you are on a dragon and you really cant just sit there pull out a map and be like hmm..I gotta go here...anyways). So he said he "loled" at me cuz AC has one. I told him I don't like the whole GPS thing, but instead they could have had a map but instead of saying "kill this guy" and pin point it down to his balls, but instead have a general area circled on the map, like lets say a small alley or part of a compound. I think thats more reasonable then have the thing pointing at the guys nose saying "HES OVER HERE YOU ARE ABOUT 15 METERS AWAY!!!"

Ok now my brother said thats stupid because they wouldnt know where to go...I told him why is that? They can easily put an arrow on the top of the screen or something saying this street is this way. But instead pointing at the guy the area is like oh this is the entrance (or center) of where you have to go. Now look for him. That would be alot cooler in my opinion, because that makes it seem like it will be pretty easy the way it is right now.

(Oh and if you dont know what I mean about the AC's GPS watch Official Movie 3 on GS)

I told hiim I wouldnt mind if the arrow was pointing to his face if it was like GRAW because well..in the game you have these lil recon things for you, while in games that take place back in the day, they dont. What do you think?

It is important to remember that the essential twist about Assassins creed is that while you have direct control over the assassin you are in fact seeing it as a memory in the future. Truth-slayer

Yeah, and that's why there is a "matrix-y" look to the game. I think it's pretty neat.

Like someone else said in this thread, there's some sort of twist involving either time travel or something dealing with the future.

Yeah I know that much, but even then, I think it gets rid of that "Assassin" feel too it. Instead of looking around for the guy, you know where he is at and such. I dont like how thats set up to be honest, even if it is him looking back upon memories, once upon a time, he did have to go through events which includes looking for his target.

Assassin's Creed is a "Back to The Future" or "The Butterfly Effect"like game. Havent you discovered ityet?

There are matrix codes on characters, It says brain , memory and just like sci-fi like elements in the game.

It's a game and in games anything is possible. They can get away with the craziest things if implemented in a credible way while playing.
Getting a description and/or drawing of someone instead of a pinpoint would be more interesting and fun, i agree with that.
I played Bioshock without using the objective arrow, and rarely ever using the map.
