If what they said in the review is true, I think they were being nice to the game. The complete lack of anything special in the single player where you're just fighting computer after computer with different styles and not much depth, really brings a score down. You just can't give a game like that a 9.0. I still have to play it to judge it myself, but this is just going by what I read in the review. I imagine a lot of the people complaining didn't even read or watch the review anyway.

How many hits did the GameSpot website receive when they reviewed Zelda? I imagine a lot. What do hits turn into for websites? Ad Revenue.
Maybe GameSpot is intentionally tough/contraversial/inflammatory whatever your choice of word is, to garner the most hits when their reviews show up? sdifjds
I don't think so. I think it's just the reviewers honest opinion of the game. Any logical person goes by gamerankings anyway.
I think they just score it the way they want. Sheep made wild conspiracy theories and posts that gs was bias when zelda review came out. Lems did it with crackdown, and i think cows did it with vf5. They arent bias and arent getting money from anyone, they review it the way they think they should.

Well yes it helps all the more if you actually believe what you're saying. But the best way to get recognized in the review world is to just be really tough on all 3. Because when everyone else is giving a game AA, and you give it an A, people will want to know why. Conversely, when you finally do give a game a really good score, you will garner a lot of interest because it must be a really good game. (Maybe, I don't know what the deal was with PDZ)
every site has certain reviews that go against the genral public's opinion. Zelda: TP got 10's 9.5's and GOTY's almost everywhere....GS gives it an 8.8 KH2 gets 8.6's and 9's.....ign gives it a 7.9 THPS3 gets a 10 from GS.............nuff said

I suppose. So saying that they were incredibly tough on Lost Planet, Crackdown, and VF5 isn't out of the question if your thoughts are true.

Maybe it could be, but maybe GS just doesn't follow a game's hype or prestige in order to give it the score. Then again some of us will consider this bogus in other reviews.

We should go by how much a game sales to determine which game is better (just like we do with consoles). That way 50-cent bullet proof would be a better game than Indigo Prophecy.:roll:

Their reviews are already popular with the web crowd, and I don't see how a lower review would drive people to the site that don't normally frequent it. Do you go to every review site that gives games higher or lower scores than the average? I don't. I go with the sources that I know and trust.
