Yeah im one of them...
Im waiting for socom to come out, then im gonna buy it. I dont even need any other games...only system i had was a ps2 and the only game i ever played was socom 2...and madden and gta...but mostly socom...
SOCOM > HALO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the 65mn chip relates to the Xbox 360, not the Playstions 3. Generally i agree with you though as many people cant justify spending that ammount of money on a console with no really good games. Give it a year and maybe with a price drop Sony can claw back their potential customers. readingfc_1
sigh.. So you saying the PS3 is not gettinga smaller chip?

It will take a major price drop for the PS3-sales to skyrocket. Don't forget that the vast majority of the 100 million sold PS2's was sold at a price of a third (or less) of what PS3 costs today.
The huge mass market doesn't buy consoles in millions until the price drops way below 250 bucks. The PS2 sales didn't 'explode' until it cost less than 200 bucks. And for PS3 that is faaaar into the future. If ever.

I think what he's trying to say is that people are more hyped for their inclusion in the Xbox 360, as they will hopefully address most of the hardware issues. Not to say they won't be included in the PS3, but as far as I know there are no major hardware issues that should be of concern. Yes it will decrease manufacturing costs of both consoles, but that isn't really the main point in this case.

Exactly. Biggest barrier to purchase for the 360 is reports of unreliability (which are mostly founded) and the largest barrier to buying the PS3 is price tag (which, again, is true for the most part).

well i own a 360 and soon a ps3, i agree that the ps3 price is really high, but after i spend the money and a month goes by, ill be perfectly fine. And i keep hearing about the 360 hardware failures...ive had mine since a month after launch and i havnt gotten one failure yet....my game has frozen before....but i got freezes on my ps2 also...i think it just has to do with the disk, scratches and stuff...

I have had three dead 360s, but I still love the system and the games on it, and the PS3 is a good value, especially if you like HD movies.
My 360 is dead right now. i done opened it up trying to fix it, MS wont take it now.
so im waiting and debating if i should get a new 360 or wait for a ps3 price drop. the #1 game i want this year is GTA and ps3 gets that to. I really want to try Haze and Uncharted to, and killzone 2 could be my Halo 3 replacement.
tough choice. maybe ill decide over the next 2 months before gta

yeah e3 might give me the final word. What kills me is how cows assume that those 100 million that bought the PS2 are all waiting for a PS3 price drop. It's like it never even occured to them that they might have already set their sights on a Wii or 360.
And if the sales of the PS3 are any indication, that's exactly what's happening.

Haze is still slated to hit 360, just later, isn't it?

dunno but its on PS3 for sure True, but I'd take (my opinion, not claiming its universal) Halo 3 and Bioshock over Haze and KZ2.We've said it time and time again, the $200 price point is where it's at - when Microsoft and Nintendo hit that *years* ahead of Sony, where does that leave Sony?
The PS3 will sell to more people, but it's going to take a niche role this generation. We could very well have claimed at this point in the war in the 5th generation that "Nintendo has millions of people just waiting to buy the N64" - Nintendo was at the height of their popularity, and you know what? Didn't happen. Microsoft is just as much as household name as Sony was back then, and frankly, I think this is the generation they eat Sony alive...
Where Sony's name matters is next generation - punch the clock, hit the reset button, Sony has to play "save face, make sales, claw you way up" but things do not look good for them. Personally, I'd say punch Sony out until 8th gen as far as being the "winner" is concerned..
Um, so your saying price drop will save the PS3?
Okay, if I remember correctly... There was a PS3 that cost $500, and it sold badly anyway. And sony got rid of it.
I know they'd be making the big hard drive cost $500. But is that really going to help? Are people are guna all the sudden say "ZOMG, I COULD OF BOUGHT SMALL HDD PS3 5 MONTHS AGO FOR 500, BUT NOW BIG HDD PS3 IS 500I GOTA BUY BUY BUY!"
Sorry, cows can only hope everyone is holding out on the ps3. Cause if that's not true, then their console is dead. Their brand is dead, and they'll lose the war.
Systems historically have sold best at or below $200, so which system do you think has the best shot of breaking $200 first. I would doubt it would be the $600 PS3...SpruceCabooseThings could change though.

lol...couldnt have said it better.
which means 122 Millionloyal PSgamers are "Still Waiting", wow then its official, the PS3 has won!!! Rejoice PS3 fanboys, your console has just won the war thanks to those loyal gamers that had a PS2, that waited till price came down to get their PS3. Actually Iowned a PS2 myself, what a coincidence, but now own a XBOX 360.

No, i mean all the talk about it relates more to the 360. The 360 has the major hardware problems which is the reason most of the talk relates to the 360.
There are millions of potential PS3 owners waitingsxyflip212
Yes , and there are 3,5 million PS3 owners also waiting .
Well thats wat i constantly here from Cows , wait for this .... , wait for that ....
Thats a lot of waiting right there .

SOCOM was the deciding factor for me to get a PS3... I was not planning on getting one, and began to tell my friends to just go 360 (like me- own an elite) ... but then a week later they announced SOCOM Confrontation, I love Socom... and I was beginning to miss other Playstation Exclusive franchises.
Sooo let me get this right....there are lots of potential customers for a potentially great system that will potentially fail as well. So potentially the best thing to do is wait.
The Potentialstation 3 - This is Waiting
I guess that's never been more apt.
Stonin
Noooo.....but....but ..b..but.............wait .......

This is why I think Sony has a good shot at winning the console war. Everyday I read how people are just waiting waiting for the PS3 price drop or for the 65nm chip to arrive(not exactly sure what it is). Or even for the rumble controller to come with the system. Mostly people are waiting for good games to be released. When some or all of these things start to happen I think that sales will increase big time. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that there are millions of people out there who will eventually buy a PS3 in the future. I believe that there are a lot of xbox 360 owners who would also like to get their hands on one as well. It's just a matter of time. sxyflip212
There are millions of potential automobile owners out there. Doesnt mean they will all purchase a car and doesnt mean they will purchase a particular type of car. In general, whats "affordable".
