There hasn't been a better time to be a ps2 owner

Everybody knows the ps2 has one of the best, if not the best game libraries of any console ever. But what about the Gamecube and Xbox only owners last gen? I mean, both consoles haver their titles, but not as abundant as the ps2. That's why the ps2 is still living today, and really, now is the best time to own one.

Or a 20/60/80 GB PS3 for that matter. I haven´t bought a wii, ps3 or 360 game because just now i'm enjoying the ps2 library. In just a matter of months, I´ve managed to nab God of War, SotC, Kingdom Hearts 2 1&2, The Grand Theft Auto trilogy and the Sly Cooper trylogy, and all of them under 30 dollars (some of them even 10)

So for now, i'm giving my 360 and Wii a rest to enjoy all the ps2 has to offer.

Thoughts? I know some of this gen games fail to impress.

It means what kind of score it got from reviews.

AAAA = 10

AAA = 9 - 9.9

AA = 8 - 8.9

A = 7 - 7.9

Also, if someone puts an "E" in it (for example AAAE) it means its an exclusive.

I always found the PS2 to be over rated, don't get me wrong I have a stack of PS2 games but they always seemed to have murky visuals or very little going on on the screen at one time and a lack of polish, I really didn't like the video processing and the lack of rv ram held it back (the DC kept up with it on occasions :|).

I did however just pick up a xbox which is chipped so I can upscale the games to 720P (uk xbox did not offer this) and play the games as they were intended, so I do see your point if you missed a console last gen. On this note I highly recommend to you the DMC games, ICO and SOTC, Okami, both MGS games, FF X and XII and both Kingdom Hearts.

I hope nobody completely misunderstands me here because I did like the PS2 as a console, I just did not think it was a very good successor to the first PS and was only successful because of the original PS. It still had some good games though, but they would have been a lot better if the PS2 was better built.

yeh at the moment im still playing battlefield mc online and its still fairly intense, its always good to see the classics survive

Basically its how you appease video game developers and publishers. The range of an A is 70-100 so corporations can put out shovelware and mediocre content and still be able to tell potential investors "we make A quality games, check the ratings."
