There Is A New Wii Color, And It Is Red

Super Mario Bros. is 25 this month, and to mark the occasion Nintendo is releasing this hot new variant of the Wii in, what else, Mario Red.

It'll be out in Japan on November 11, and will retail for ¥20,000 (USD$240). What's more, it'll also include not a Wii Remote, but one of the new Wii Remote Plus peripherals which combines the functionality of a Wii Remote with that of the MotionPlus add-on (these controllers will also go on sale individually on the same date).

Because it's a Mario celebration, these 25th anniversary Wiis will also come with a copy of Super Mario Bros. pre-installed on the system. It's not just any copy, either, with the game's trademark gold coin bricks modified to say "25" on the front.

This being a Japanese offer, don't hold your breath on it being released in the West. At least, not in a fancy bundle like this.

I bet next year there is going to be a green wii, you know for the 25th aniv for zelda.

If only it came here... I wish every console had a wide variety of colors instead of black or white.

We get ugly white and black consoles and they get all these different colored ones. Seriously, is giving America a Red Wii really that bad? I'd love a Red Wii..

Mario sells decently in the US, maybe we'll get lucky and it'll become available here. Or at least I hope, I'm getting a Wii soon in preparation for Skyward Sword anyway and this would be amazing.

its a cool design but I personaly would prefer a light more neon blue or green. Still its really gorgeous looking and Id definetly get it if I didnt already own 2 white wiis.
