There Is No Way PS3 Comes In Second This Gen

Sales numbers are the closest thing to the voice of the people that we have. The summer adaptors have spoken loud and clear as X360 outsold PS3 yet again, this time by a wider margin: 80,000 units. I dont see anything that can possibly turn the tables. If PS3 NEXT MONTH miraculously turns the tables and begins outselling the 360 by 80,000 units per month from here on out (anyone with half a brain knows this wont happen and the 360 will likely continue to outsell the PS3 for some time), it will take only 100 months for the PS3 to tie the 360. Thats 8 and a third years folks, this gen will be long over.

Sony won't technically finish in last place. Its probably gonna be around a lot longer, so by a technicality, the ps3 will probably be 2nd WadeFan

I think i would take more than 20 years tbh :P Well if the 360 does keep up with the PS3's 10 year life cycle, I guess it will be a close race.

Why is the PS2 still in production? Why was the Xbox dropped? The answers to those questions are known and are far more important than the 'companys track records'.

I am pretty sure Ford didn't expect the Edsel to die almost immediately. And I am pretty sure no one expected the original VW Beetle to be produced for 40 years.

Consoles will always be fighting for second place. PC owns the #1 spot and has for a long time.

who knows Sony might announce a price-cut and sell PS3 for $199 and 10 million gamers would rush out in the following 2 months and buy a PS3 :)

Meh. I honestly dont think PS3 sales are a priority to Sony right now considering they lose money for every ps3 sold. I think theyd be more interested in getting production costs down, and if they can do that I think the PS3 will start catching up to the 360 and maybe even pass it._Cadbury_

The best chances they have are:

A) A Price drop

B) Final Fantasy 13

C) Outlasting the 360 (though by the end of it, no one will care because the next generation will be where it's at)
