There is only one way to perfect online shooters

Get rid of snipers !!! Honestly Sniping is a cowardly camp act and ruins pretty much every class based online game. In MW2 quick scoping defeats the purpose of SMG classes and sniping from a distance is so irritating it destroys any rushing tactics. In Bad Company 2 all that Recon players do is sit on a hill and spawn camp you. I got a match where pretty much the whole team was playing Recon and sniping. The only way to improve online gaming is to get rid of the cowardly act of sniping.

ORRRRRR, they can let you customize what weapons you want to spawn in the map so people like you can have your way and people like me who dont mind the use of sniper rifles to play how they want. you can end this thread now

An improvement? Maybe to some. Realistic? Not very. Granted, I know games (especially the vast majority of shooters that people play) are FAR from realistic, but at least the weapon palette is somewhat varied. Getting rid of sniper rifles eliminates your long-range weaponry leaving you with only short to mid-range weapons. And who wants less options? True, they're OPed and BS in some games (COD being the biggest offender with quickscoping), but they doesn't mean they don't have their place. And if you still don't like playing with them, hey, that's what custom games are for.

Long story short: Vary your tactics, work on flanking, counter-snipe, and if all else fails, leave the game. :P

no, sniping is the best part about shooters. not camp sniping....I don't believe in that....but run n gun sniping. thats where its at.

at add to that sniper rifles should ALWAYS be one shot to the head to kill, two to the body.

From what you said , my conclusion would be that those games you play aren't balanced and have flaws. It makes no sense to get rid of snipers.

Or, you could stop playing CoD and try a game that isn't camper friendly (sniper=/=camper) like CS.

In BFBC2, i like to sit in an attic, at the US base and snipe people in the Rus Base (Harvest Day) I also have no problem hitting running targets.

Bad Company 2 equals snipers. Everyone always wants to be a sniper in this game.

MW2 had some of the most fun sniping around. I though Quick-sniping was fantastic-- it took some degree of skill and I didn't think it was completely overpowered as compared to the other classes. I actually hope they bring back some of the quick-sniping in MW3.
