These Five Games Are Not Exclusives

"For the love of God, why don't console makers respect PC gamers? I get it, they're trying to promote their platform, but to come out and blatantly say a certain title is only available on your platform and you know darn well it's also on PC is certainly wrong, insincere.

Kaz Hirai said it at E3, and Aaron Greenberg told OXM that "Xbox 360 has the most exclusives," and he goes on to list Mass Effect 2 etc. Hirai proclaimed in his keynote at E309 that Final Fantasy XIV would be exclusive to PS3. We later found out that the game's also on PC. Where's the respect for the Personal Computer?

Honestly, they both are wrong and to prove it, here are five pieces of evidence:

Final Fantasy XIV – Coming later this year to PS3 and PC.

Mass Effect 2 – Available now on PC and Xbox 360.

Splinter Cell: Conviction – Coming to PC and Xbox 360 in April.

DC Universe – Coming to PS3 and PC in 2010.

The Agency – Coming to PS3 an PC in 2010.

As you can now tell from the list above, a lot of titles pushed as exclusives by both Microsoft and Sony are really not are they? They can also be enjoyed, and sometimes even with better looking visuals on PC. It's time the injustice stop. PC gamers are also part of this industry and respect much be given to them.

But that's not to say PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii don't have great games, to put it plain, you'll never, ever be able to enjoy all the great tittles coming out or already available for said consoles even if gaming was your job; there are just too many:

Dead Nation is also a PSN release. I reckon if you include all the PC games of PSN calibur, and all XBLA-exclusive games, alongside lots of inevitable Wii 3rd party rubbish the chances are it'd be more likely that PS3 would be in last place. :shock:

Additionally, despite making reference to the way that The Agency is not exclusive, you have listed it as a PS3 exclusive, alongside MLB: The Show and Free Realms, both of which are not true exclusives. :P

Despite all this, I can honestly say that all platforms are looking to have a great lineup, and I'm looking forward to PS3's the most.

in terms of consoles then the titles you mentioned are exclusive. a pc isn't a console.

I tend to agree. They're company exclusives not XBox 360 or PS3 exclusive. Beats me why some people can't see something that simple. There's always been more than one way to define "exclusive" when it came to games.

What's this about Fallout being PC exclusive?

Ok fine. But in the debate over whether x360 or PS3 is the superior console (the largest argument in SW), games like Splinter Cell ME2 and FF14 are exclusives. because when buying a console, it matters howmany games that console can play, not whether or not the games your playing are "exclusive"

Both of those MMOs are being developed by SOE; Warner Brothers owns DC owns the rights to the characters, and are providing creative input, but the development is being done by SOE.

People here put way too much thought into exclusivity rather than quality.

I have almost no interest in any of those PC exclusives :(biggest_loser
