they are tighter and have more spring... theyre definetly better from a performance standpoint... as far as comfort goes, thats up to the player
I like to switch from one to other
They're analog sticks. They function equally and neither perform better than the other.
The only thing that I like better about the 360 controller is that it has a depression in the analog stick so pressing down on it repeatedly doesn't start to hurt your thumb.

they are different. the PS3 analog is more sensitive than the 360 analog.
sloppy? the ps3 analog sticks are very loose
and the 360's are tight so there more accurate

Whenever I use a Playstation for FPS, my thumbs bump into eachother. Playstation blows when it comes to FPS. All the good FPSs are on 360 so the developers have spoken.[QUOTE="Thompsonwhore"]They're analog sticks. They function equally and neither perform better than the other.

That is why I don't like the PS3 controller. The analogs feels too loose. I feel as though I have control with the 360 controller. I just stopped playing FPS on the PS console all together because of it.Don't use Halo 3 as your benchmark game for FPS controls. You'll just be dissapointed. It's not like you actually have to aim in Halo anyways.JocktheMotieYou must not have picked up the sniper in Halo 3. Heck you must not have played the game at all to make such a dumb statement. Is their auto aim yes, but it was severly tone down compared to Halo2. Halo 3 mad merealise how much I have to improve my shooting.

Well, to balance out all this praise of the 360 controller, I'll put my vote towards the Dualshock.
In all honestly, it's all personal taste and anyone who says differently is just a fanboy.

360 controller is clearly better for fps's in almost every way.
but ps3 controller is awesome for everything else

You might be thinking of Halo 2. Come on Halo 3 if you actually have a 360 so I can pwn you.

The 360 controller is way too clumsy. I can never figure out how to make that thing work with any game let alone an FPS.
Maybe it's because I've gotten used to it, but the DualShock is what works best for me. Keyboard an mouse works fine as well, but I haven't played PC shooters in a long time, so...
I don't know why. I just played Halo 3 over a friends house this weekend and i think the analog stick on the 360 controller is sloppy for aiming compared to the PS3 one.Zero5000X
its cause u use the ps controller more, if u used them just as much they'd feel the same or 360 one better just because the way it fits into your hand..its made to match your hand not to make your hand match it....
360 controller is more comfortable in the hand imo.
PS2, err I mean PS3 controller is just the same controller it was when it got invented 10 years ago.
Modification here, modification there... Still, it feels old and not really that great anymore.Sgt_Crow
No dude, the ps3 controller has changed. It does have two trigger buttongs and it's gettign rumble soon

sixaxis for FPS? pfft,Mad_Rhetoric
where did you find this
LMFAO thats funny
Im just so used to the Playstation controllers it feels normal. I only use both of my index fingers on the L1 and R1 both thumbs on the 10 bit analog sticks.

If you don't have to be so good at aiming why have you only won 110 games out of the 302 games you played... and your only level 15. If you didn't have to be good at aiming you would be level 50 right now.
