Things i don't want is:
- Digital-download games only
- Small Hard-drives
- Have to pay for online
- Waggie Controls
- Under 1080p/60fps
- Lack of Blu-ray drive
This topic is locked from further discussion.
PS4: I don't want to see the same controller design recycled again. Never liked the dual shock design.
X720: I don't want to see another RROD fiasco.
General: I don't want them to lock out used games or make hard drives non-swappable(or force us to buy proprietary hard drives).

Be realistic, hardware capable of doing that in high budget titles would be way too expensive for the console makers, they don't want to repeat the past, and sell their products at a loss for a few years, like they did with PS3 and 360.In fact, with Sony's current losses, they'd probably go bankrupt if they tried it...
I'd say you can either expect a 720p/60FPS,or 1080p/30FPS...
As for the thread question,I don't want consoles copying the PC.I would want for them to differentiate more, and not force installations, updates,DRM,etc. This Gen,to me,consoles often feel like gimped PCs...
I also don't want blocking used game sales, for the sake of the game preservation. All games eventually get pulled out of retail, how fast, depends on the amount of revenue they create. And when that happens, used game market is the only way of aquiring older titles. Not having it would create many anti-consumer issues, since the method above would be impossible...
you pretty much named it all.
as long blue ray player as increase speed unlike ps3 lol that thing is like .05x. j/king
NO but 4real
no used games would. I will only accept this if ms/sony take on the same policys has steam. and allow us to buy keys from other companys to fight prices even more. Then on top of that video game companys need make their return policy little better. They wounder why people don't want to spend 60 bucks on new game because we are tired of risking our money and end up with crappy has game. SO if the game sucked we should be able send the game back for full refund straight to the publisher. Maybe that would up the AAA titles...
What I want to see, rather than what I don't want to see.
1. Sony to keep a free online service.
2. Larger capacity HDDs already in the systems, 320GB-500G.
3. Faster PSN downloads for PSN+ members. Since they are paying they should have faster downloading and continued free stuff like they get now.
4. More reliable systems. 360 was a joke and a half with it's 54% fail rate with the first 3.5 years of consoles & Sony's origional size consoles failed at a 12% rate.
5. Game makers to stop making so you can't put game saves on to a flashdrive & telling you if you had PSN+ you could save them online.
6. Wii & Xbox owners to admitt that Bluray is necessary and better. Yes something can be necessary even if your preferred console maker didn't put it in their system. It is necessary in order to advance gaming and not be held back due to storage limitations. It's like saying that it isn't necessary to have a larger HDD than a 20GB which we all know is false.
7. Lots of my favorite games.
- no overheating (ylod,rrod)
- no casual crap
- no online passes
- no annoying kids on mic
- No glitchy rpgs (yes im looking at you bethesdia)
- no hacked online
I would like to see mods on both ps4 and xbox 720 but only for single player.

Casual crap is good for the systems survival, as long its plenty other games i see no problem with it. Let the kids and mommies be gamers too :P

Agreed 100%.It's ridiculous to think that 60FPS will ever be a console standard. Developers are always going to try and push console hardware which means sacrificing performance for graphical and visual fidelity. If that wasn't the case then 60FPS would always be standard with every new console/hardware generation..

1080p and 60fps is wasted on console games.
I would prefer larger draw distances, larger environments, and more objects on screen than using the power to get to 1080p at 60fps. That's a waste for fixed hardware.
With the PC, you can just throw more hardware at it. If you can't get 1080p and 60fps, you can just wait 6 months for new hardware that can probably do it. It's a whole different platform with a different mentality.

Low fps gives eye-fatigue and 1080p is standard on today's TVs.

It does?Considering that TVs still refresh at 60 or greater times per second, you aren't going to get eye-fatigue on that. Even if the game is rendered at 30 fps, your eyes see 60fps regardless.
So, you're full of crap.

I thought 60 Hz refresh rates were only bad with CRT monitors because of the flicker. I don't see it with LCD monitors even with interlaced 60 Hz.

Most games next gen will be 720P due to subtle differences and outlandish costs of 1080p production.

Well stated..you are 100% right. It is much easier and cheaper to make a 720p game look beautiful then a 1080p game. To truly make a 1080 p game look amazing you need the proper tech..which next gen systems won't have and a boatload of cash and great developers. A truly inspired 720p game blows away any 1080p console game released today.

I can feel when game runs in low fps, doesn't it matter if TV run in 60fps if the source runs 30 and lower fps... it just mean TV will show same frame more times which not give a "smooth" experience in fast games like shooters.
My eyes not lying, you are full of crap dude...
-Won't happen just yet, maybe 2 gens from now -Will happen with Wii U, unfortunately, but I will get an external. -Will definitely happen with Nextbox, and high chance it will happen to PS4. -Probably will happen with crappy Wii U games, but it should not happen anymore with motion plus and all and the Wii U pro controller. -Will Happen to early Wii U games, but I think we will be seeing the last of 720p thereafter. -This one will not happen to an extent, while Wii U will not have a blu ray drive, it is using a disc format with the same storage capacity.Things i don't want is:

DRM that requires you to be online to play a console game like some PC games require these days
Low amount of RAM
Cell CPU
I would happily pay $800 for a game console if it had a high-end CPU, lots of RAM, and a high end GPU with lots of VRAM,and an decent sized SSD, if it was worth it.
-Used games. Seriously, let the devs make some money so they can lower game prices and take chances on less formulaic games.
-Motion controls. Let Kidtendo do all the gimmicks.
-Low RAM.
-Cell processor. I want to see the PS4 and 720 have atleast somewhat similar architecture.
Oh boy, can't wait for all games to be $60 three years after their release. Console gaming is SOOOO cheap!-No used games. Seriously, let the devs make some money so they can lower prices and take chances on less formulaic games.

to see no Disc Slot for any of the New Systems will make me not want to buy them.
I already have a PC.

on other consoles
1-no used games thats a big issue

5 --charging 70 bucks for games
6 -xbox live has to be kept down to 60 or put back to 50 would be more preferable
7 --don't focus all your eggs in one genre--eg fps , thats definatelly an issue this gen i won't wanna see repeated

Great job judging something, that we've seen very little of in action, for all we know their online system could be on par with the twins. No more online passes, day one dlc or pre-order dlc but we know they will never end since a lot of gamers support them. I have a feeling that I may skip next gen consoles since I'm sure they will still have all those crap. And oh yeah stop releasing games that are really buggy and broken and then patch them later. Actually work hard on your games first instead of releasing them with so many problems and slap some patches after.

He's talking about the blurring that occurs once you get below about 45 fps. Strafe back and forth or look around and everything gets blurry. Please Log In to post.
