Don't do it! 360 has better graphics more games, better online, and AAA titles galor, but you would be stupid to buy a 360 over the all mighty SonyPs3 because it has worse graphics no AAA titles a worthless "Free" online and its all for only $200 more. Its a no brainier! PS3 is the only console this gen.Nugtoka

I'm quite sure the graphics on both systems is comparable, if not at the moment they will be. I may not have looked into these things with a lot of detail, but as far as I know the Ps3 is a powerful system and should be able to produce good graphics. If the games are lacking right now, its most likely the devs fault.

Yes, the Ps3 online is free, which is a bonus imo. Though I just might not get Live Gold anyway if I get a 360--still need to think about that too; usually don't do much with online gaming.

Both systems have or will have their benefits. The Ps3 may be lacking right now, but I am sure it will get its fair share of games soon. Which is why I'll probably still end up getting one eventually.

After seeing all the games coming out for the 360 (mostly Mass Effect) I've finally decided that I should get a 360 and wait on a PS3... still like the system, but doesn't seem worth the money right now.

The only thing: is the 360 worth buying now, or should I wait a little bit longer? I've looked into it, because that's what I do before a large purchase, so I know about the RRoD. So I'm not sure if I should just wait a bit and hope new and improved hardware is put into newer 360 models.

Other motivation is that I'm pretty bored with what I have for games at the moment, and am impatient for something new... even though the 360 games I want still have a few months to go before release.

Phantom_Menace

If you are interested in playing great games, then the X360 is best console as of right NOW. I owna PS3 and honestly, it was a big mistake. The console itself is good and I use the blu ray player once a month. However, I'm a gamer first and when it comes to games, the X360 just has a much bigger and better game library compared to all other next gen consoles.

More importantly, I don't buy most of the games I play. I just rent them. I can usually squeeze 3 gamesa month using Gamefly for $15. The only games I buy are online games that last months such as GeOW and soon to be Halo 3. It ends up being far more cost effective than any gaming PC. Buying a X360 this gen is a "no brainer".

Smart choice. Get the console with the most games.

xjet039

too bad he wouldnt be able to play them.

Well I'm playing GAMES now...Something that you're jealous of and something that ps3 is incompatible with.

I would say pick up the 360 now. I've had mine for almost a year and haven't had any problems. There are more than enough 360 games now to keep you busy ( Saints Row, Oblivian, Dead Rising, Gears of War, Forza 2, Crackdown,Command and Conquer 3 and Bioshock. I personally own all these games and they are all great.

Thanks for the help.

This has pretty much confirmed what I had thought to do already, but getting other people's opinion helps.

Check this out TC, if you are thinking of buying a Ps3 instead of a 360, look at this...

Ps3 599.99 + 60.00 for Warranty + 30 for HD Cables + 30 for Headset, = 720.00 not including tax

360 349.99 + 50.00 for Live + 20.00 for Charge Kit = 420.00 not including tax

That leaves 300.00 dollars for you to buy...

Bioshock, Gears, R6, Mass Effect, and Halo 3!!!!

Does that sound good or what, or you can have a Ps3 with no games, I know what I would take!!!

Cubs360

here let me help, ps3 has a recharchable controller a bluray player, free online, all content downloads are free, upgradle harddrive.

360 you have to buy hddvd, xbox live, you must purchase all content, you haveto buy pay a $ 100 for a 20 gig hardrive whichonly comes with about 12 gigs, you have to buy a play and charge kit, to top it off 360 get red ring of death, so you dont need a warranty on ps3s.

O'rly, You don't need a warranty to protect you 600.00 dollar investment, Pfffttt get a grip. You don't think the TC knows Ps3 has a Blue Ray Player in it? 20 Gig HDD actually comes with 13 Gigs, and is more then enough. I have 12+ TV shows on my HDD, 2 Demos, Music, 15 arcade games, all my game saves, and Shivering Isles on there, and guess what, it still has 4.5 gigs left. So please just save it for another day O.K!

P.S you don't have to purchase anything on 360 if you don't want too, you don't have to buy an HD DVD player, I have played all the top titles 360 has to offer w/o one, and you will never need one. Oh yeah, I am Playing Bioshock...Have Fun!!

OWNAGE APPROVED. 360 premium comes with everything you need.

Wireless Adapter? WRONG! Eternet cable for $14

Play & Charge Kit? WRONG! Sanyo recharger, 4 batteries recharging at all times the other 2 in the controller, $20.

Xbox Live $50 a year? WRONG! XBL is free, you pay absolutelt nothing for it. Demos are free, freinds list, trailers blah blah blah. Only way you pay is if you upgrade to GOLD and thats to play with and against people online and several other features.

So in reality 360 + Ethernet cable + Sanyo charger= $400. That leaves $200 for games and whatever else. This is for the "Casual" gamer.

I think you're making a big mistake. Every good 360 game is going to the PC, one breaks every five seconds, and the PS3 will have the best games. Trust me, when Killzone comes out you will be kicking yourself.

Or better..AVOID fanboy comments like the one by xjet...like someone else said already, 360's dont break down as often as they used too..and even if you are unfortunate enough to be a victim of one, you get a brand new console and 2 free games for FREE

If you're really worried about the ole' RRoD, wait until the Falcon chips are out and confirmed to be in new 360's, then get one.SpigleyMcCheese

Agreed. If he's concerned about the realiability of the 360, he can wait for confirmation that the Falcon chips are in the system and then get it. Otherwise, there's really no reason to wait. There are several dozen quality titles worth getting and some of them are only $30 or $40 now. With the systems price drop in place and HDMI in the nearer XBox 360, now is a good time to get it. I'm probably going to wait another year or more for the PS3.

LOL!! NO! Sounds like someone is jealous that the TC will be getting a new XBox 360. No one cares about what the PC has. Killzone won't be out until the end of 2008 probably. Who knows how good that game will be. The first Killzone wasn't anything special. Why pay $499 and then have to wait 6-8 months for quality games on the PS3, when he can get the XBox 360 for $350 and all types of quality titles for it right now?

All I have to say is if you have a decent computer, most likely the 360's exclusive games will come out on PC. So you save urself some money and the possibility of the hassel of the 360 breaking down on you.

Personally I was glad to hear that Gears of War was coming to the PC b/c I really didn't want to invest money on getting the 360.

PC games aren't that good most often. Like Fighting games and Sport games are better on Consoles.

He should get one because he has 3 year warranty. If his console goes down, there is a high chance that it will be replaced with 360 with a Falcon chip.

No, my PC isn't very decent. Granted, I'll have to get a better one to play Starcraft 2... probably will end up being a new laptop.

But I'm not sure when I'll get that, though I'm hoping for January.

I don't really have a problem investing in a 360, I'll most likely only be paying for half of it--my brother paying for the other half. It works out because there are games both of us want for it--granted some are multiplat. Though if I didn't get the 360, I'd probably get a Ps3, and I just don't see much I'd want besides Heavenly Sword and the same multiplat.

I think my best option is getting a 360 now and then getting a Ps3 sometime next year, and hopefully there'll be a price drop before then.

I'm pretty much in the same boat, Mass Effect is like my perfect game (nearly finished the book). But after seeing the likes of Killzone 2 and a new Team ICO project I gotta pick up a PS3, but I'll wait a couple years for that.

[QUOTE="RobbieH1234"]Make out a list of 360 games that interest you and if there are enough exclusives there, then go for it. I, unfortunately, didn't do that and am stuck in the situation where most of the 360 games that I want are also on PC.Meu2k7

Ditto, you havnt mentioned if you own a gaming PC ... if you do ... avoid the 360 like the plague...

that's a pretty ignorant thing to say - i have both and would never part with either. you're delusional if you think every decent 360 game goes to PC, or that all PC versions are better than their console counterparts.

a true game would own everything he could afford :) not avoid something because of fanboyish notions.

Buy the 360 i love my 360 alot. I think you should skip the ps3 though since its a little more expensive and dosnt have a substantial supply of AAA titles though it does have its AAA titles.

The newer models have a better heatsink and HDMI ports. Don't think they have the new chips though, it'd be nice if they did.

ps3 has better gfx, better games, better online, it is after all cheaper, it is better made, it is from a better brand. 360 who?
