Sell your Wii, as it is filled with casual games and shovelware. It barely has online for gods sake.
I haven't sold my Wii yet but I haven't played it in the last year and a half, the only good looking upcoming game is Super Mario Galaxy 2.
It's up to you dude. Persoanlly, I wouldn't like missing out on Red Steel 2, Mario galaxy 2, Metroid other M, Silent Hill Shattered Memories, Boom Blox, Zack and Wiki, Wii Sports Resort, Tiger Woods 10, Klanoa, Little King's Story, Madworld, DQ10, Muramasa, Punch Out, Crystal Chronicles, Dead Space, NSMB wii, No More Heroes 2, Lost Winds, Monster Hunter 3, The Grinder, Mario Kart Wii, and the new zelda (when it releases in 2032).
But, hey, if all that's unappealing, then by all means sell it.
When I saw your thread, the first thing I thought of is.. DO IT!! Sell your Wii, it is a piece of junk, I had one and it's been collecting dust for a year, now I sold to and prepare to get the SLIM.
If You keep getting dissatisfied then sell it if You need the money.
I'm still keeping my ps3 for heavy rain... too bad it keeps getting delayed.
I wouldn't if I were you...I thought the Wii is much better than the 360 for those who don't want to waste their life on Xbox Live. Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid, Zelda, etc. were far from bad games. They were actually great. However, they don't have sniper rifles and zombies in those games, so I can understand why you would prefer the 360.
Yeah that's why I can browse the web on my Wii - you can't on the 360 - oh and VC games - Wii Ware? Oh maybe you were talking about online gaming like Mario Kart or SSBB or The Conduit or various other games I could happily mention. Were you possibly referring to something else? I wouldn't sell my Wii - while overall I am disappointed at a lot of the games that come out on it. It has some genuine gems and there's more to come in that regard. Like the thread starter I also have a 360 so I get the best of both worlds - There's NOTHING on the PS3 so far that really really gets me wanting to play it. Maybe Uncharted 2 might I don't know.Sell your Wii, as it is filled with casual games and shovelware. It barely has online for gods sake.

If you are going to take up a defensive stance against that statement, and I wont blame you if you do, dont pick the online portion of what he said. You have to admit, the Wii's online capabilities are completely stunted. It took ages to get a decent enough storage solution for downloadable content, and that still doesnt include addons to retail games or demos. Mario Kart online works well, but SSBB's most certainly does not, neither incorporate Wii Speak, which should have been released when the system launched, and all require friend codes which are frustrating.
Focus on the casual / shovelware argument, because that is, most definitely false. ;)

Wait... did you just admit to playing The Conduit?... :| Friend codes and discontinued support (*cough* Brawl *cough) are hardly "online support" - nor does having to pay for Opera (which is *free* on PC) change that Nintendo has done the bare minimum to support their console - - As far as selling the Wii goes - I doubt you'd get enough money to make it worthwhile. While the Wii has depressingly few worthwhile games ( no, that is not an invitation to rattle off a list of games, don't do it, it's disruptive posting ) there's always the chance you'll want to play something in the future. Say Metroid Other M or a new Zelda comes out - it would be foolish to have to pay *more than you sold it for* to get another Wii.Sell your Wii, as it is filled with casual games and shovelware. Should I? I feel like I would only miss out on Mario and Zelda games since I enjoy them but I dont like how theres like only one good game for the Wii each year and then it turns out not being so great. It happened with Mario Galaxy and Brawl for me. They were overhyped. Also, the games dont even look that good on my HDTV. I'm thinking of selling it and get some more money saved up to get a PS3 slim. Not sure though since I have a 360 and I am aware theres a lot of games shared on both consoles. I want to try to have a closely even number of games on each console. I currenlty have 4 games on the Wii and 13 for my 360. Theres a lot more games I want for my 360 than the Wii. I have tried and played many games for the Wii but I get bored playing them. WHATEVER game I DONT have for my Wii currently, is because I have played them but lost interests. I have played Nintendo games since I was a kid but I somehow haven't grown out of Mario and Zelda games. I know they're good but I feel like a kid when I play a Nintendo game.blazingneo32089
The bolded text encompasses your two major problems. If you only four games (most likely only first party), of course you're not going to enjoy it! Do some more research, there are plenty of good games already out and many more coming soon.
As for the part where you say, "I know they're good but I feel like a kid when I play a Nintendo game," it makes me wonder why you play videogames. Do you play games as a hobby/for your enjoyment or do you play certain games to maintain a certain image that you want others to see? A lot of adults still play Nintendo games. It's generally teenagers who only want ultraviolent, bloody videogames who have problems with them. My advice to you is play what you think is fun; who cares what others think about your taste?
Wait... did you just admit to playing The Conduit?... :| subrosian
There's nothing wrong with playing and/or liking The Conduit, just like there's nothing wrong with playing and/or liking Too Human :P

No no I think it's a misconception that the Wii 'barely has online for gods sake' and that it shouldn't be castrated for that.
You can run it down because a lot of the games released on it have been sub-par compared to last gen let alone this gen.
However, I'll stick to my guns when I say it has some real gems and I actually can't wait for games like Monster Hunter Tri and Red Steel 2 to come out so I'm keeping my Wii and I have the 360 as well which gives me double the gaming fun. And that's my point if you're Wii60 or PSWii you've got the best of both worlds this gen.
I'm not agree at all with the casual stuff, is such a lame argument, anyway, if your not using your Wii, you should sell it, is a shame you don't enjoy it because there are plenity of games, but if you think you need the money and don't gonna miss it, then do it.

We will agree to disagree then. I love my Wii, I really do, and I completely agree with you that it has some real gems, with loads more on the way. Its going to make my wallet cry.
But comparibly, I really dont think the Wii's online is any good at all.
I suppose, with us being able to experience the best of both worlds, it doesnt seem as irritating. I was a Wii only owner for a long time, and thought the online was perfect. When I experienced the capabilites of the other machines. Well, my opinion changed. Its the only thing I can find fault in the Wii with, though.

They are as bad as eachother. If you aren't playing it, sell it, but don't whine if you end up missing out on a great Wii game, among those listed. It sounds like a lot of people you associate with are insecure teenagers who only play super violent games and graphic whores. I wouldn't sell it just because of them; you should play what you enjoy the most! Your friends need to grow out of this mindset, and most of them will after they've matured a little. 1. Awesome decision, yo!
2. Excellent, don't let your friends force what you can and cannot enjoy down your throat.
3. LOL WTF! Most females I know love the Wii. They like stuff like Wii Sports, Mario Party, and Mario Kart lol.
My wife is not the main user of out Wii, but since getting Wii Sports Resort, we've been spending a lot of time together using it. The PS3 is mine though. I agree chicks dig the Wii!
It's your choice. I personally love my Wii, and could careless if you sell it, but this is the worst time ever to sell it.
1) Monster Hunter Tri.
2) Metriod: The Other M.
3) Metroid Prime: Trilogy.
4) Zelda Wii (Working Title).
5) Red Steel 2.
6) No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle.
7) New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
8 ) Super Mario Galaxy 2.
There's More on This List.
Personally, I can't wait for these games. If you don't care for them at all, go ahead and sell it.
Sell it! I have 2 BC PS3's and a WII. I barely play my WII and the only reason I keep it is my g/f likes playing WII fit and few other games I have. I mean I have like 8-9 WII games and 33 PS3 and 33 PS2 games. I'm really just thinking of selling it since I really feel the games are notmeant for my taste. The Wii is too gimicky with the controlsand the graphics are horrible. The games are great if you are having parties but really aren't my thing for the most part. Just get rid of it and play some great PS3 exclusives like Uncharted, MGS4, R&C, KZ2, Resistance, Infamous and Valkyria Chronicles. It also is a blu-ray player so it is definitely worth the purchase price of $299. Actually if I can get an XBOX for cheap I might purchase one of them but probably won't since I really don't have that much time to game anyhow and the PS3 fills thatmy gaming needs.
nope, never sell a console. I never have and never will, youll end up regretting it

Why would he regret it if he never plays it and would only do it for one game a year. Sell it as it will save you money and time. The Wii technology is nothing great that you can past on it. Unless you really feel you will want to play some exclusivesa lotin the future there is no reason to keep it. Of course don't sell it back to gamespot as you will get ripped off. Make sure to sell it on Ebay or Craiglist or similar site.

That one game a year could be an all-time favorite or a ground-breaking experience. The money is already paid for the system, you won't lose anything for keeping and just saving for something else.

Well if he is going to use the money to buy a PS3 which sounds like the games will be more to his taste than he will getting a lot more than 1 game a year as Sony is coming out witha lot of great exclusives in the next year. Demon Soul's, Uncharted 2, R&C CIT, WKC, GOW3, GT5, HR, and MAG to name a few. I'm sure he will buy most of those so that would be a better investment for him since he can use the revenue from one system to get another that he will actually play and not sit collecting dust. I guess if you are just a collector it wouldn't makes sense but if you are practical it would make much more sense to sell a system you don't play and it's games and get a system that you will play a lot.
Yep. Get a Slim. I still have my launch PS3 (though I only bought the best games), I sold my 360 cause of all the jerks online, RROD, and having to pay for LIVE (no offense to anyone here). I have no intention of buying another Xbox until 2012. Also, the slim and wii price diff. is 30-45 bucks depending on the store.Sell your Wii, as it is filled with casual games and shovelware.
