This gen so far is overall, generally, relatively, a flop. why?

Becausethis entire gen in itself was hyped to heaven. We were supposed to experience massively new things. Photo realisitic graphics, massive games with massive environments detailed in every aspect, and we were wowed with amazing trailers of soon to come games that would be like nothing we've ever experienced....like lair. Yet in the end, this gen is just a prettier version of last gen.

I think the only big difference from last gen and this gen is a tighter online community. Updated graphics are a given, so really, there's nothing entirely new yet, nothing too different from last gen, and so many people are left hanging.

Games like LBP get me really excited, cuz that's something that has never been done before in this proportion. There was Gary's Mod like a billion years ago, but this is all new, it's charming, colourful, and you really get to express yourself.

Well anyway, this gen is just a year old (a year since all 3 have been available) and so in my opinion, it has much to prove.

Games are games. If you want real life visuals, go outside. If you want to interact with something in a real life manner, go throw a football with your buddy. BioShockOwnz

videogames are alot funner if you just go on with your life, and let one come along naturally, and surprise you.

I never know what to expect from generation to generation but I thought the 360 launch was pretty amazing. KAMEO had stunning graphics and sound that completely blew away anything from last generation and CONDEMNED was a unique experience. It's only gotten better since then with games like DEAD RISING, GEARS OF WAR, HALO3, and OBLIVION.

besides graphics better then last gen, it amazed me that so many enemies could be present on screen at one time. its the first time i felt i was seeing something (other then graphics) that couldnt be done last gen

Who believes hype?

I've played some great games and think this has been over all a pretty good generation for gamers.

When else have I been able to play great state of the art high def titles in campaign, co-op and versus, swap out to arcade classics once again many times in hd and co-op, download great expansions for games I already own along with all the latest movies I want to see in HD, keep track of what my friends are playing and connect outside digital music and video sources and effortlessly use those also..

You answered your own question dude :) You right this gen is only a year old since PS3 & Wii have joined, I think it has done far better then when we were a year into last gen. There will be many more years left so I wouldn't really judge this gen harshly this early on. oh and I agree with your comment on LBP.

Disagree, Mass Effect & Crysis & Orange Box & Bioshock alone showed off a good bit of this generation.Meu2k7
