you can't play anything off of them, they are used only for storage unless Nintendo does a firmware update.

You're referring to the Crystal Bearers.

This appears to be a whole different game...

Wrong. it has 512 mb's. How else could you fit N64 games that are 10-16 mb's each?

I'm hoping for hard drive support. Nintendo just has too much stuff coming out to fit on that flash memory. Time to allow HDs. Come on Nintendo.

Anyway I definately wasn't expecting games like this from Wiiware. I was expecting like 5 minute flash games or arcade games.

That would be nice, I have a 200 GB external Maxtor drive that could use some filling.

LOL, Leave it up to Square to go overboard. I'm not sure if nintendo met for devs to put games like this on WiiWare. Hopefully they announce a HD soon.

BTW can't wait for Crystal Bearers.

Options for space issues:

1) An external HDD

2) SD Card vis a firmware upgrade.

I really hope its the first...

External hard drive support would be great. I have one sitting right next to my Wii. It'd be great if I could simply swap it between my PC and Wii.

Yes it's not what they had in mind.
It's like Square is trying to spray some pepper into nintendo's behind when it comes to storage.

I thought the Wii disc can contain 8.5 GB.

if that were true, then he's still be right in using the "MB" abbreviation.... however, you're wrong the Wii does have 512 Mega Bytes internal memory... which isn't really much, and apparently about to become even less

You gotta realize its a shallow game still. Kinda like.. simcity, but with better textures and less depth. I can see probably 60mb-75mb of data here... once its all compressed and formatted.

Cuz i think that game has more built-in game stuff, so it has to be less than N64 geometry to fit -10mb. Nintendo probably wants less space demanding stuff, so pokemon will use very few.

Pokemon isn't really a game. It's like Pokemon Box for the gamecube and is just a Pokemon storage device for the DS games.

WRONG, The Wii uses DVD's right now (upto 8.4 GIGS dual layered), Last gen were 1.5 GIG Mini-discs.

First of all, grammar is your friend. Also, We are talking about Wiiware which uses the Wii's internal 512mb flash memory.

The GC used GOD(gamecube optical discs) which i believe held. 1.8 GB...(oops that was UMD) GC is 1.5 GB but i could be wrong.

The Wii uses WOD(Wii optical Discs) whcih i believe hold up to 8GB, but i donj't know for usre.

People have a big misconception of how big games are, Nice graphics don't have to take up a lot of space, especially since from what I hear that game's world won't be that huge (I think it only has 1 main city and then some surrounding areas). Remember Mario 64 which was a pretty huge game fit on an 8MB cartridge. So lets say this game is 40MB's in size. That is 5 times as big as Mario 64 and the actual world is going to be a lot smaller so there should be plenty of room to include a lot more detail then in Mario 64. The stuff that really takes up a lot of space is voice acting, pre-rendered backgrounds, full motion video, and cd-quality music.
