this is getting ridiculous because PS3 40GB doesn't have BC

i keep hearing again and again o noes i was going to buy a 40GB PS3 but i dont want to ne more because no PS2 BC.said by all those fakeboys, little do they realise for the price of 1 year XBL ($50) they can get the 60GB PS3 for $450

it comes with

-20more GB

-memory card slots

-backwards compataility

-2 more usb slots

SO stop the bashing already i knwo $100-$150 may have been a lot more for BC, but now its $50 dollars more thats nohting so stop complaining...dam fakeboys...

BC is (or at least was)a major selling point fo the PS3 though. It upscaled PS2 (not sure about PS1) games so they didn't look absolutely fugly on your shiny new 1080p HDTV and gave you the ability to play thousands of games on one console. It was an especially big selling feature for someone like me who never owned a PS2, but wanted to play games like Okami (luckily its on the Wii now :D), God of War and others.PBSnipes

well do u have a 360? the bc on 360 is horrible and you have to have online and hdd meaning you can throw the core right out the window if you want. and even the list of bc games is horrible barbie horse adventures :shock: FTL :lol: ...so if the lowest end ps3 doesnt have bc you're complaining but the lowest end 360 doesnt have it either and no blu-ray/hd-dvd either, no harddrive, no wireless controllers....

I'll have a PS3 and PC for online games. I'm not spending £30 a year or whatever it is for the pleasure, Silver is a great free service too. The 360 has the best games even be it offline so...

I really like the BC for the 360.

I have not had any problems running the games I want and the upgrade to HD is a bonus.

My brother owned the PS2 I owned the Xbox and GC. So when he went his way and I went mine I was left with games but no system.

Making it more affordable by axing a feature they claimed to make standard does not sit well with me. While it may sit well with others and I encourage anyone to buy one if they see fit I for one will not be buying this unit as it does not appeal to my gaming needs. I also refuse to pay $499 for a unit the comes with B/C. Sony is still pricing me out of the equation for the things that I desire. There is no need for me to buy a PS3 at this time. I will hold off until I am satisfied in what they are offering.
