This is how Rambo: The Video Game looks

"Rambo will be a triple-A title on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC and will capture the gritty atmosphere and full-on action which made the Rambo movies so successful," publisher Reef Entertainment promised upon the game's 2011 announcement.

Saw this earlier and after reading the comments it looks like most people just hate it or make fun of it because of the graphics. Personally I think it looks, at least gameplay wise, far better than all the hyped COD crap we get lately.

If done right, it could actually end up pretty awesome... as long as it doesn't end up taking itself seriously, which would be a fatal mistake.

There's barely any gameplay and if there is gameplay shown, it's absurd, with multiple enemies being obliterated into pieces as Rambo gloriously stands in one spot and doesn't even attempt to strafe, and speaking of which - have you noticed how PRIMITIVE is the technology that powers this game up? The enemies just explode in one piece of guts as in INSTAGIBS!!! It's something we were used to seeing in 1996 and not 2013! And the last game that used this was, guess what? ALIENS: COLONIAL MARINES!!!

The graphics are horrible, it's a technical mess and on top of that the YouTube video suffers from a horrible compression even in 1080p resolution!

Seriously, most of the time video games based on movies suck because they have an unrealistic deadline to launch in time with the movie. But this time there isn't even a new movie coming out, there is no unrealistic deadline... why does this still look like crap ?

Sure, that's also a big reason. Look at this game for example: it will sell on name alone so they don't need to put in any quality whatsoever.

But a lot of movie tie-ins are made in a year or less. That's way too short of a deadline to make a decent game, except in some rare cases.
