Ps3 vs. Xbox 360

Help me and probably so many others decide which to get. I will have money by christmas for a ps3, but I also want to save money and I could do that by getting an xbox... I have a standard def tv and heard that xbox is better with downgrading with their visuals. I've wanted a ps3 from the get go, but know im not sure... will it be worth the $500 plus dollars ill spend on it?

Im right on the line, and so are many others, Throw me everything you got which is better and why? which is worse and why?

Go to gamerankings or metacritic. Open the PS3 games in one tab, the 360 games in another.

Then open up Wikipedia and look for major 2008 and 2009 releases (linked for your pleasure).

Look good and hard at all of that, and judge what is best for you, and you alone. No one here can tell you what you like and what looks good to you, and no one should try.

Well, the 360 has Halo 3 (best FPS of this gen so far), Left 4 Dead and Perfect Dark Zero ( :lol: )

The PS3 has Resistance 1 & 2 and Killzone 2 in February. And from what I hear from those in the beta, Killzone 2 is phenomenal.

You want people to decide for you? Seriously? You want people to tell you how to spend your own hard earned money!Xbox has games, PS3 has games, check out the exclusives-----check out the hardware, reliability, console features, options, etc. what have you. Go to store, buy! That simple.

Or go to a gamestop, eb games, bestbuy, circuit city, whatevr and ask them to tell you how to spend your money. Essentially it's the same thing you are doing here. I know you are lookign for opinions, but I think you should do the research yourself to grasp what you want. Don't go by other people's opinions and tastes, since they are all different. they have plenty of reviews here on games for ecah consoles. Lists of games that have come out, and will come out. IGN, ps3fanboy and 360fanboy websites. See what they have to say.

One piece of advice: When purchasing your system, make sure to buy an extended warranty service. Especially with the 360!

Ps3 has a good amount too, look I am going to say this: If you wanted a Ps3 get that first. The 360 can wait.

I wouldn't have said the same January of this year. But now with MGS4, Resistance 2, and LittleBigPlanet, that does seem the way to go. Either way you will get a rather equal experience in my opinion.

I say get the cheapest thing you can afford. From my experiences, choosing the 360 first was a good idea. There aren't much games that interest me on the PS3 so far except MGS4, maybe Resistance 2, and games coming out NEXT year. If I were you, I would get the 360 first. It has many shooters and many other genres to fit your needs.

What he said was ridiculously biased and not remotely true. But you can't go wrong with either console, both choices are the right choice.

Bad reliable console = ps3

good unreliable console = 360

PS3. if you are thinking about cost, the $50 per year for xbl will make the 360 more expensive than ps3. plus, you have excellent games like MGS4, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Little Big Planet, and upcoming games like Gran Turismo and Killzone 2. and a ton others. Plus, PS3 is more than a game console. it has tons of multimedia capabilities, will be getting PS HOME for free, blu ray player, and tons more. Plus, PS3 won't break on you (like the epidemic RROD on 360). the choice is obvious - get a PS3Rafinator

Well, if you're going to add that which isn't mandatory, how about adding the DS3, Eyetoy(For LBP), your costs for the PS3 in your monthly electric bill, and the price for Popcorn while playing MGS4...

As for the PS3 not breaking on you, explain to me why my PS3 DRE'd(Which I bought in mid-August) and my 360 haven't shown any signs of RROD for the past 2 years? It's not guarranteed when a console will break down. It's personal just personal experience and there's no definite fact that the PS3 will never break or the 360 will break before the PS3. It's unknown, so get it straight.

This is the reason why you're better off making the decision on your own TC. Buy whatever console that appeals more to you. It's you that's going to pay if you follow these fanboy's approval.

i wish people would stop fighting about which is better some petty little game players aint gonna affect anything it just depends entirely on which games you want to get cause some are only exclusive to certain consoles that is the only real difference, OK!!ryzano
