NBA Live 96 i think was my 1st experienced of player creations.

It was cool to have a person u created but the problem always been that since the guy has my name, it should have my actual face/likness.

I always had this vision of actually putting players in the game and sure we made process to some ugly results.

Tony Hawk Underground2, and Sony sports games allowed users to the use the eye toy to map their face. I only tried it on tony hawk and it looks stupid.

Other thing that irks me is those blank pictures with ur created player. I really hate that.

Now it seems my vision is comming true as EA is allowing users to put thier mug onto a created player in next gen fashion.  Just look for those who didnt see.

Thats impressive but to bad its a golf game. But imagine if every game with create a player have this feature?

Agreed.

I won't say that using your actual face isn't cool.. it is.  And NBA Live 96 is the best NBA ever, period.

But the Mii's are simple and I think that goes back to the reaching out to non-gamers philosophy.  The Mii's, the motion controls, everything is supposed to be simple to reach out to those non-gamers.  Hardcore games will have more challenging controls, of course, but the Mii's and the Wii in general was to reach out to everyone.

EA has a cool idea, but to compare with the Mii's is two different things.

I can do that on The Sims 2, I don't need to put myself into every game I buy. Isn't the point of videogames in the first place to be someone different?

I play games not to bne someone else but to have fun. I think this will work especially well in sports games, Since I always make a player just like me in everyone I buy.

I like the Mii system thing, but the only thing miis need are more customizable features and add ons. Cartoony characters ftw!

Mii's are retarded. There is no depth in terms of customization, and there is no use for them on any game aside from Wii Sports and Wii Play.

i like more cartoony people, and not everyone has the patience to make a lookalike. and i would rather not see myself in everyone game i have. im tired of seeing myself in the mirror as it is. and i dont want every body to see how i look like. and im tired of seeing real faces in real life. it's cool i'll admit but not something that interests everyone

the thing about Mii's are they are quick and simple to make, and they ACTUALLY look like you. You can make a Mii that looks like you in less than 5 minutes.

The Mii aspect is just more friendly and inviting to all ages, the use of them is nothing more than easter eggs and avatars. However, truly a Mii can be used and upgraded in graphics for a game too. A Mii on your system can appear in Fight Night or some other game, and have a graphical upgrade, heck even Warioware's Miis are actually more sharper and have more polys than the Wii's Miis.

All it needs to do is register each "Mii" part into a model, and then the game engine puts the models together into the game and creates what's created on the Wii.

A digital avatar, featuring spot on physical facial trademarks/features of your homo sapien being, is very dumb and I hate it.

Miis are fun and easy to make.  There's no reason they can't suffice for ingame character models.  And the best part is they're universal, meaning they can be used in any game that supports them.  Bowling with Vader FTW!
