I don't thing it can get any worse. MS admits that every xbox 360 is defective. Sony is basicly forcing us to buy their console at $600since the60gb is being discontinued. And now nintendo only wants 5 year olds and little kidsand soccer moms to play video games. Im not buying a 360 until theres a price drop andthe problems are fixed, im not buying a ps3 until theres a real price drop, not 499 80gbfor a couple weeks and599 100gb coming out. And im not buying a Wii until they actually make games that arent for little kids or for exercise. I guess ill play my ps2 and game cubeuntil on of these things happen.

I can see how you would not be enjoying this generation if you do not actually own any of the current gen consoles. Kind of hard to enjoy it without them. Personally I think it's the best generation since the PS1/N64 so far but I have some strange gaming tases. Regardless, owning one of the current gen consoles and playing the games would be the first step to enjoying this generation. I have a 360 I bought at launch which has not shown the slightest sign of trouble but even if it does there is the 3 year warrenty to fall back on. The Wii has some interesting games and the PS3 could be getting some good ones later this year.

Did you have it in a well ventilated area? The 360 runs a lot hotter than any console before it.

I hate consoles bull****. Call me a hermit, I don't care. PC games you don't have to worry about that sort of crap, and not to mention PC has some of the best games around. Check out Crysis, that's just one of the games. Of course, I still play my 360.... whenever there's a decent game, which isn't that often.

The only time my 360 crashes is with Oblivion. Damn they need to fix that, it's the game's fault since no other game crashes.

I think this gen is the best, I already have 14 games and there's another 10 coming in the next 6 months I want to get. The last console I owned before that was an N64 and I had 8 in the whole time I owned it.

sad but true. To some the games that are coming out are awesome. Some of which that are highly acclaimed by Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft and PC are well-- first person shooters. None of the other genre of games are really getting much of a hype. There are some exceptions like Asassin's Creed among others that are 1 in 5FPS kick butt games that are coming out this year.

I'm not being synical about first person shooters, I for one enjoy playing them. However, is there any other genre of games that are coming out that have extensive work and media hype that is actually getting attention? -- Maybe is it just me .. We live in a world where guns and explosions are perhaps the best visuals that could entertain us.

AC or a fan shouldn't be needed. I live in Australia and we have really hot summers but my 360 seems to hold up well in a non air-conditioned room. The main thing you have to ensure is good ventilation. It should not be on carpet and both the system and power brick should have 15 cm or more space around them. If that doesn't work it's some other hardware issue besides the console running hot and MS should be able to fit it. That said, I feel a lot less concerned about my 360 in winter :)

Still $400 is to much for a console that has that much of a chance to break, I would probably go buy a pro 360 right now if it was $300.
