ok so every one nows what it means. it means time, future what is to come.

1. the seasons in games will be greater than ever. we always had snow in games but it is used as a serfus rather than wieght. say that a dev wants to make season in a game in the past they had to create two differant levels because the machines never before been able to create the snow in real time. say one level is for the winter seen the nthey had to make the same level in the spring. now they can make one level and have say the cell can render the snow growing leaves ect. then it saves them time because the machine does the rest. i would like to see a game that snow will add inches to the ground trees ect. that would be so cool.

2. the explosions is another great exsample is that now they what something to blow up they just make it blow up. in thepast they had to make it sense by sence of were the pieces goes if they even had stuff fly every were most of the time it was just there then a second later the structure is gone. now with 4-d they can see what goes were like wood, stone ect. so most of the time the explosions seems different ever-time you shot the same building. alot of dev are not using this yet but future games will.

3. says time games were the levels that are say 200 years in the future of when you began in the game. it will be able to calculate the way the wood decays over time ect. say this place or structure would be totaled because of the cell will see how it was built ect.

these examples are some good ways to use 4-d. now how the dev are going to use this we don't now for sure.

the reason i keep saying the cell is because i don't now what the 360 using for these effect. im not saying it can't but i what like to now what it using for these thing.

i hope you guys can see how these things can immerse you in the games.

I always thought it would be cool to have shock pads on various parts of your body, so when you get shot in the leg in the game, your leg gets shocked:D. That would be awesome!

2. Snow can grow leaves???

3. Exsample?? Is that a sample that is in fact no longer a sample?

They already have something like that, it was at the Game Developers confrence this past year. It didn't actually shock you because that wouldn't make sense... you are being shot so he is some electricity flowing through your body... I think not. They used pressure pads that would quickly expand and retract depending on where you got hit. It was sort of fun to use, but not really practicle.

It certainly would make you want to avoid getting shot though:D.

Except that you'd probably die if you were playing Medal of Honour and accidentally stood in front of an MG42 for too long, you can get hit like 40 times before you die and its super rapid fire =s

Actually, I do teach english for a living :P

It's truly sad when foreign children have stronger english skills than, 30 year old, native english speaking people.

1. I don't see this as new. it's more of a design choice than anything else. look at the game Dark Colony. It's an RTS that came out in 1997. it had day and night cycles. something that most RTS games don't have today. Ask for snow, i think i remember some pc games with that too. don't remember it right now though.

2. HL2 did this. about 3 years ago.

3. this has promise but somehow i don't think most games would use it. Why you may ask? because developers would most likely want control of what you see in that 200 year future rather than allow the cpu to simulate it.

4d is already possible. it's just not that applicable or practical in most genres that consoles play.

By removing rumble they also removed any claim to "4D" functionality. Yeah, they are bringing it back wow? What a revolution. The hole "4D" thing is a joke market gimick anyways. That should have died years ago. Sure the machine renders everything in 3D, but if you want to get technical, its only the illusion of a 3D image projected onto a 2D screen.

GARRYTH...:|... enough of this mumbo jumbo your picking out of thin air, you are not a developer! you have no idea where gaming is going next, you have no clue (nor does anyone else) if human civilisation will even last 200 more years let alone gaming as an industry!

The best thing you should do is just applour INOVATION otherwise developers will see it as a pointless time wasting and only stick to what sells and if gaming sets its tracks on that loop! then we will be stuck with nothing more than techniqualy prettier games with slight physics implementations.
